Sad news. And focusing on Superman's earlier life...Smallville did that, Superman 1978 and Man of Steel did that. Now it's being done again? Bet were gonna have Lex Luthor as a villain yet again too. It's quite irritating. It's almost like WB/DC is afraid of sequels and just keeps wanting to do origin stories. They have this obsession with showing how the superhero came to be. Batman Begins, The Batman, MoS, WW, Aquaman, Shazam, Black Adam, Green Lantern, etc. I want to see a Superman who's in his prime and already established as a superhero.

Gunn went on to note that the movie isn't an "origin story," with reports revealing that it will focus on Superman/Clark Kent living in Metropolis and working at The Daily Planet. Now Gunn has offered a new cryptic tease for the film, its supporting cast. Responding to fan questions online, Gunn noted that he's "definitely not doing an origin story" and that in the new Superman movie the character is "not meeting the major characters for the first time, either. He's merely younger."

This is absolute bullshit. Henry Cavill is the Superman for our time. He needed a brillant script to cement himself as one of the best actors to play the Man of Steel. It's a damn shame DC made me hopeful about Cavill returning to DC with a potential Superman sequel in development only to just throw it away. Henry deserves better.

I wasn't much a fan of his Superman movies but he was hardly the issue.. the whole cast of the universe was actually pretty solid. It's disappointing he's not going to play the part anymore.
Who else would they cast him as though? Jor-El?
Anyways... lame.

Well the first piece of good news to come from this:
Not DC related but still:
Cavill is reportedly a huge fan and we know how he cares about the source material so that might be good.

I am so sick of origin stories, 3hrs worth, for characters WE ALREADY KNOW & BEHOLD. I get that some backstory needs to fit a current arc, & yet this DCEU or whatever they're called today can't even go a f'ing arc properly. Batman Begins is fine because Batman & Robin. The First Avenger is fine because 1990's Cap. There are always exceptions to the rule... none of us were clamoring for an Iron Man movie or Ant-Man, so those origins were welcomed also. There's not another Superman or Spider-Man or Batman origin movie I will embrace ever again. The Batman nailed it.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, an insider source has given more background on why Cavill's Superman is being cut from the franchise. Per the trade, the British star was a "pawn" in Dwayne Johnson's "failed attempt to control a piece of DC," as the Hollywood actor was the one to push for Cavill's Superman to be put in Black Adam. Neither Cavill, Johnson, nor their representatives have commented on the story yet. The same goes for DC Studios and the involved parties at Warner Bros. Discovery.

When you have a guy who makes child sex jokes think he can write about Superman a moral superhero you know it's going to go badly. Like Freddy Krueger writing a Peter Pan movie.

So Dwayne was like a real life Lex Luthor? Using Superman to further his goals? Pretty funny if true.

For a moment there I understood this to mean that they were casting Pom Klementieff as the new Superman.

Majority of your comments are weirder, more negative, and a lot more unnecessary. Like this comment you just posted.

Could he be taking inspiration from 'ALL-STAR SUPERMAN' by chance?
