Hmm, 50/50 on this because it’s Shyamalan. I thought ‘Glass’ was a real letdown.

In a recent interview with Total Film (via GamesRadar), Shyamalan compared Knock at the Cabin to his 2002 film Signs.

Shyamalan asks fans to watch the movie in theaters. "Let me be super-clear, audiences are dying to come to movie theatres to see great movies. That's all there is to it. If you released Home Alone today, it would still be a gigantic hit. If you released Back To The Future today, it'd be gigantic. And I think the industry is starting to see this, after getting distracted by the streamers and the pandemic. There's nothing like it – a bunch of 500 strangers coming together to watch a story together, to not multitask and commit themselves. It's just a deeper experience."

I loved it. Like a lot.
9/10
I understand that it has deviated from the book and thats always a bummer but as someone who has not read the book I was not bothered by it.
I loved the atmosphere, the acting, and enjoyed the plot and the pacing.
Beautiful production design too.
I Highly recommend it (especially if you have not read the book). Go see it at the cinema.

Because the cabin (in the woods) and the sacrifice to prevent the apocalypse kinda remind a bit of the aforementioned movie. Of course, both are also horror movies but I thought the Cabin in the Woods was also quite funny at times, to a point where it was almost a comedy.
Also, for me, M Night Shyamalan movies are hits and misses with his previous one, Old, being a miss for me.
So I should consider this an improvement or will it feel like déjà-vu to an extent?

its very different from Cabin in the Woods simply because of the storytelling, tropes, pacing and atmosphere. Knock is not a horror its more like a psychological thriller and its so masterfully told. The tension is what is crafted here so well.. Also Dave Bautistas best role to date I think. I was not bored for a second. Same with me and his movies, I also find it hit and miss and Old this nothing for me. This is a different level its a true return to form in my eyes.

got mixed reviews ,some M Knight films that were mixed were pretty good, didn't like Old, but liked M Knight other mixed films like The Village and The Lady and The Water , so liking this seems like a coin toss

I really dug it too, awesome pacing. Dave Bautista was awesome.
Maybe a little clunky with dialogue at times and some ideas are very surface level but I never lost interest once. I guess a big flaw is that it's kind of easy to get the broad sketch of what everything represents.
