10. For me this is a story about a boy and his whale..... With outcasts, this will so resonate...
PS: In France it is already beyong successful, their own Star Wars.

7/10. The worldbuilding and the visual effects is breathtakingly amazing. It demands to be seen on the silver screen. However, the plot is much too thin. That said, despite the lengthy runtime, the pacing flows right by.

+ - Yet another masterful 3D cinematic ride from the one & only James f'n Cameron. No one is in his league for this. - The characters were fairly nicely unique, & more importantly, easy to tell apart fairly quickly. Sigourney Weaver's performance as the young girl character was great I thought, & she's surely going to win the series come film #5. I can appreciate the young cast being arc'd towards adulthood in the 5th movie also. Cameron has said the young kids will be available for aged mo-cap performances now, filming things for years ahead now, so they can copy/cut-paste as they see fit around storylines. - Excellent 3D & visuals. Cameron loves water & it showed, not least his Titanic callbacks during the finale sinking. Water cannot be the easiest thing to CG, & they made it as hyper realistic as can be.
- - Just like Avater 13yrs ago, which my Collectors Edition blu I so rarely even re-watch, I've near no inclination to revisit this. I will not fault the film proper though - I cannot allow the age of re-watches & callbacks to surpass such a film's initial cinematic brilliance of an experience. - Alas, just like Disney Star Wars, having a carte blanche of a playground to be creative in... just as I didn't want another f'n Death Star, Stormtroopers, & Sith puppets after ROTJ, I wasn't feeling much at all for another tussle between Jake & his now nearly immortal Colonel foil. If he strangles him 10,000 times more, the human military can just find another USB stick to try again yes? Essentially making all human personae immortal - which is funny considering the McGuffin this time of ageless elixirs in the space whales. - I guess I was hoping for more background on why the Sky People hold Pandora as Earth 2.0 & yet its resources are geared towards grunt battles in the wild. They're not remotely interested in co-habitation... that's pretty strange considering humans cannot even breathe on Pandora without help.
