English author, essayist, playwright and screenwriter Fay Weldon has left us at the age of 91, on January 4th. Her first writing for BBC was in 1963, but her first televised writings were for ITV Play of the Week 1966 two parter Plays of Married Life. She also wrote three episodes for Upstairs, Downstairs 1971 - 1973. She also wrote the screenplay for the 1980 BBC miniseries adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, starring Elizabeth Garvie and David Rintoul. At that time, 1983, her most celebrated novel was published "The Life and Loves of a She-Devil", that became a TV-mini-series 1986 and a movie 1989. She is remembered by BBCR.I.P. Fay Weldon

(lung cancer) Perhaps best known as criminal psychologist Dr. Peter Silberman in The Terminator 1984, Terminator 2: Judgment Day 1991, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines 2003. Canadian artist Michael Snow has left us at the age of 94, on January 5th. A well-known avant-gardist who also won three movie awards, Wavelength 1967 at Knokke Experimental film festival, and Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards 1983 and 2002. He is remembered by CBCR.I.P. Michael Snow

American film producer and production manager James D. Brubaker has left us at the age of 85, on January 3rd. Associated with Chartoff-Winkler Productions for several years, he had producing credits on several of the company's productions including two films in the Rocky series 1982 and 1985, as well as True Confessions 1981 and The Right Stuff 1983. He later served as president of physical production at Universal Pictures from 2003 to 2008. Also producer credits for movies such as The Nutty Professor 1996 (co-producer), Liar Liar 1997 (executive producer) and Bruce Almighty 2003 (producer). He is remembered by VarietyR.I.P. James D. American cinematographer Owen Roizman has left us at the age of 86, on January 6th. He received five Academy Award nominations for Best Cinematography, for the films The French Connection 1971, The Exorcist 1973, Network 1976, Tootsie 1982, and Wyatt Earp (1994). He served on the Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and was president of the American Society of Cinematographers. His first feature film was Stop 1970, and several other notable credits include The Heartbreak Kid 1972, Three Days of the Condor 1975, Absence of Malice 1981, True Confessions 1981, The Addams Family 1991 and Grand Canyon 1991. American former child actor Adam Rich has left us at the age of 64, on January 7th. Noted for his role as Nicholas Bradford, the youngest son on the television series Eight Is Enough, which ran for five seasons (1977–1981). A distinctive feature of his appearance during his years as a child actor was his pageboy haircut, which inspired thousands of parents of that era to imitate the look for their young sons. His role on the show led him to be known as "America's little brother.". He also starred in the Disney movie The Devil and Max Devlin 1981 and starred in TV-series Code Red 1981 - 1982. American film editor Mike Hill has left us at the age of 73, on January 5th. (Cryptogenic Organizing Pneumonia) He and his editing partner Dan Hanley had a longstanding, notable collaboration with director Ron Howard, having cut all of Howard's films from Night Shift 1982 to In the Heart of the Sea 2015. American actor Ben Masters has left us at the age of 75, on January 11th. (complications from covid-19) Perhaps best known for his portrayal of Julian Crane in daytime drama Passions from July 8, 1999 to the show's final episode on August 7, 2008 (749 episodes). In theatre he acted in the off-Broadway play The Boys in the Band. He also had a 13-month run in Kevin Wade's Key Exchange off-Broadway. The Broadway plays Captain Brassbound's Conversion with Ingrid Bergman and The Cherry Orchard with Irene Worth, Raul Julia, and Meryl Streep followed. English rock guitarist Jeff Beck has left us at the age of 78, on January 10th. (suddenly contracting bacterial meningitis) He rose to prominence with the Yardbirds and afterwards fronted the Jeff Beck Group and Beck, Bogert & Appice. In 1975, he switched to a mainly instrumental style with a focus on innovative sound, and his releases spanned genres ranging from blues rock, hard rock, jazz fusion, and a blend of guitar-rock and electronica. Rolling Stone magazine described him as "one of the most influential lead guitarists in rock". He composed the music for the movies The Pope Must Die 1991 and Blue Chips 1994, also the TV-series Frankie's House 1992 and Catterick 2004. His music can be heard on many soundtracks, since Blow-Up 1966 "Stroll On". He is remembered by NMER.I.P. Jeff Beck

Italian actress Gina Lollobrigida has left us at the age of 95, on January 16th. She was one of the highest-profile European actresses of the 1950's and early 1960's, a period in which she was an international sex symbol. At the time of her death, she was among the last living high-profile international actors from the Golden Age of Hollywood. As her film career slowed, she established a second career as a photojournalist. She continued on as an active supporter of Italian and Italian-American causes, particularly the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF). In 2008, she received the NIAF Lifetime Achievement Award at the Foundation's Anniversary Gala. In 2013 she sold her jewelry collection and donated the nearly US$5 million from the sale to benefit stem-cell therapy research. She won the Henrietta Award at 18th Golden Globe Awards.
