Illusion requires consciousness, or as Descartes put it "I think therefore I am". I’m interested in how a collective consciousness like religion can dominate individual consciousness, as if the super consciousness has a “mind of its own” that will “fight” for its own self preservation. I'm not sure if what we call collective consiousness and individual consciousness are the same kind of thing, but maybe it doesn't matter, since the latter is so hard to pin down anyway. Anyway, it's quite possible that social insects like bees and ants have some kind of group mind that is irreducable when looking at the mentality of individual insects, wherein individual bee brains are a bit like individual neurons in a human brain. If that's the case, then probably it would apply to collections of humans also. But unlike bee colonies, humans have competing mind-sets that members have some freedom to move from one to another.

If the universe is strictly determined, is consciousness an illusion? What if physical reality is an illusion? Well it has been supposed if a being capable of perceiving an image is not looking at something or anything, then something/anything collapses from a particle to wave state. It’s paradoxically if not an illusion. What are we? Material objects? “Radio static?” Both? If so, can we exist in parallel states that permit worlds created via fantasy? Can we conjure up myth to reality like comic books to a virtual reality existence? What is the evolution of the big brain up to? Silly questions, I guess.

The organic aspect of ourselves is impermanent, the energy and awareness that comes with it is intangible and one can only become accountable and aware of these subtler aspects of their being by recognizing the phenomena in and of their own lives. Is the information lost then?

Is the information lost then? For whom is it lost? Information won't affect everyone with the same impact. I don’t know. Who did human information first affect.

I don’t know. Who did human information first affect. Those that had the tenacity, intelligence and insight to do something with it to evolve. That is all its about, evolving mind. The obstacle many cross though, is the notion/concept of what mind is and where it resides. You were there?

We are all here, that is all that needs to be considered. The concept of time gets confused and conflated as well. Yet we will not be there at the end. How sad.

I knew what you meant.
You have just proven what I was saying, time isn't understood. Where does it begin and end?
Who knows?

So best to not limit your perceptions of time and see it as beginning or ending.
What if all time is happening simultaneously/momentarily? You can't find the past, because it doesn't exist anymore and the future hasn't happened, it is always open, so all there is, is the present created by the openness of the future. So what happens to our information I wonder?

So what happens to our information I wonder? Information as in knowledge you mean?
What is beyond knowledge then, you may need to ask yourself? What if the way into knowledge, is only leading out of it?
Our knowledge is trapped in a brain that losses its electricity.

Can you think of a way to test whether that's the case? I mean, other than taking the red pill? One can only live their life through their own experiences and understanding of their place in the universe. It doesn't matter what anyone says, even scientists, because it will never be proven absolute and it is all theoretical perceptions. What we do know, is that nothing is permanent. I'll take that as a "no". If one can't think of a way to test a proposition, it's pretty much meaningless and is just mental masturbation. Might as well just go for solipsism.

Our knowledge is trapped in a brain that losses its electricity. Brain is just an organ that functions the body/motor functions/nervous system and is seen as having the capacity to determine intelligence. It is fallaciously seen as containing solely mind as well. However, since knowledge can't physically be harnessed from the brain, can it really be knowledge as we know it as? It’s like an old video tape that’s gotten too close to the fireplace.

It’s like an old video tape that’s gotten too close to the fireplace. Let’s ask then, is knowledge intellect? Does it matter since it disappears at death.

Does it matter since it disappears at death. Many would say it does, due to how knowledge is greatly revered. One could then ask, is it what is done with knowledge that is the more important than the knowledge itself?Knowledge is no good if it’s not recorded before death.

Knowledge is no good if it’s not recorded before death. Then useful and decent knowledge could be considered a legacy for human living. And open to misinterpretation. When the legend….

Then useful and decent knowledge could be considered a legacy for human living. And open to misinterpretation. When the legend…. The problem with all spiritual teachings is that they can be corrupted and/or misunderstood. The old pagan mystery traditions had different levels of initiation, so people would only learn what they had the wisdom and maturity to handle, which seems like a good idea. There are a lot of things I've learned on my own spiritual path that could have been very dangerous if I had been taught before I was ready. Truth is earned.

I’m thinking in terms of the information that’s accumulated in our brains by the time we die. Where is this information in the brain accumulated though? What if it is mind that accumulates, which resides in everything? Information is stored as memories. Memories are stored in a distributed fashion throughout the brain as synaptic weights. Recalling memories is a highly associative activity, involving the interaction of very large numbers of neurons. Storing memories is a matter of adjusting the weights of numerous neurons (more precisely, the synapses that connect neurons to each other) to record a particular association, in combination with many other associations (memories). That writing process is mediated by certain areas of the brain, the most prominent being the hippocampus. There is a very clear connection with memory impariment (especially ability to remember new things) and damage to the hippocampus, providing strong evidence for the role the hippocampus plays in forming memories.
