Leia in a metal bikini. That alone makes the movie worth watching.

It’s a good movie that suffers from two things: an overlong intro and the obligatory split-action finale.
By sticking around Tatooine for too long, it makes the middle almost irrelevant. The movie is pretty much Tatooine -> planning in space -> Endor. The sense of adventure in an open galaxy is missing compared to Empire.
Then the cross-cutting between Luke/Lando/Han at the end becomes a bit tiresome. Especially when Luke and Vader’s bit is so significantly better than the other two.
The good moments are really good, though. Luke and Vader on the Death Star is some of the best content the Star Wars franchise has ever produced. The speeder chase is another genuinely great scene that almost makes up for the “meh” of the rest of the Endor scenes.

It's properly rated, & frankly GL made re-watches harder with his Chuck-E-Cheese Jabba's Palace special edition song & dancing.
It's 5th for me. Star Wars Rogue One Empire Sith Return

Leia in a metal bikini. That alone makes the movie worth watching. No it's not, it has always had good reviews/scores.A certain segment of the fanbase cries that it's hated, but that's not true.

This is the first SW movie to do it (and one of the best things about it).
The planning scenes are not long at all. They're not long enough to be irrelevant.

Same. It was my favorite one growing up. I'd have to watch the original trilogy back-to-back to give it a fair comparison, but it might still be. It's a fun movie with great action and a triumphant climax.

The silly actors in goofy monster costumes is one of the reasons that could never get into the original Star Wars movies. Good for a laugh but that's it.

Ewoks sucked.
Always have, always will.
However, the throne room scene with Luke, Vader and the Emperor is one of the best scenes of the entire franchise.

Perhaps not just one of the best scenes of the entire franchise, but perhaps even the very crux of the entire franchise.

I'd watch it even if Leia wasn't in a metal bikini. Perhaps that could had been the case if Paul Verhoeven directed it. And yet, we didn't get Nancy Allen in a bikini or less. At least we got a couple of Miguel Ferrera's coke-snorting buddies. But even that was pretty tame.
