Well, it is, because I found The Story of Temple Drake, too, but I didn't know what to do with it, because the name was wrong. And I'm unhappy that I missed so much of the game, because duty elsewhere called. Not a good day for me in general, all things considered. I'm sorry you had a bad day, Spider. Please join Mrs. Mc and me at Cavanaugh's Pub. Drinks are on me, and you're always welcome there. Murphy (my dog in the avatar) will console you. Where is this pub??!! Is it still open??

I am stumped! Found Tony Richardson - Sanctuary Stephen Roberts - The Story of Temple Drake But my iPad is so slow it is frustrating. Holy Contest! The GG staff has let me down again. Lydia the Tattooed Librarian checked out the left elbow instead of the right and listed the wrong director. Have to award the correction to Linda. You gave us the wrong bloody name??!! Do you know how long I searched for a link between Tony Richardson and John S. Robertson? Well, all I can say is #&!!@&! and #$!!@#! and FURTHERMORE !#&&#@!! So now you know! You also gave me credit for one of Jervis's correct answers: OD-24. William Friedkin (LR) / NN-13. Henri-Georges Cluzot (EV) -- THE WAGES OF FEAR/SORCEROR (mc)

I WAKE UP SCREAMING !!!
Middle of the night and the whole Garth household disturbed by the result of my terrible nightmare -- angry GG Players pursuing me with torches and pitchforks!!
Tomorrow there will be a shakeup at GG headquarters over the Roberts-Robertson snafu that will make that of the White House seem like a house party.

Oh, Mc, I don't drink, but I thank you for the offer! And I sure good use a chance to pet your dog. Been missing my beloved one of late, gone too soon. Thanks for the offer and please give Murphy a big hug for me. He looks like a great guy. Probably a lot like his owner. It's just a cyberspace pub, Spider, not a real one. I'm not a pub owner --I'm an English professor. Those who don't drink can always listen to the music, pet Murphy, and talk to Mrs. Mc (if she let's you get a word in!) Don't you dare tell her I said that! LOL!

WAGES error corrected, Mick -- GG Scorekeeper Sheldon also on my hit list. It'll be a BAD DAY AT BLACK ROCK around the office tomorrow. Now, about your language ... (and you an English Professor??? For shame!)

I hope so too - I spent nearly an hour comparing the writers of their films to find a remake. Sorry about that, Aussie. I wish our time zones could coincide -- you are very much missed around here. I could post a game late in the evening so that you and Harlow could contribute, and then play catchup the following morning. But a special nature of Garth Games is the QM staying on top of the proceedings to cut down on duplicate postings -- though I will consider that idea.

MCavanaugh repeats (burp!) to claim the opening prize for the month of June !!
______________________________________________________________________
The QM is grateful to the Nifty Nine for putting up with the many 'Covfefes':
Returning champ MCavanaugh
DDC Members Neuro and Jervis
Quality Players Kijii and Spider and Tele and Sostie
Distinguished Participant Julie
And a warm GG welcome to Prodigal Player Aussie
_______________________________________________________________________
The GG staff promises to do better at Saturday's contest.
No more remakes -- four contests of them depleted the phenomenon (there are no remakes left in the history of cinema).

spiderwort neurosturgeon et al: I dunno how y'all found 78 of them. I am just here watching today and even with the final four there are so many remakes but no linkups of the remaining names. I keep thinking "Eureka" and then check the names and have to cancel the cry of triumph. Including the one now blamed on poor over-worked Lydia. Meanwhile ol' garth is sitting there scarfing up Spam, swilling brandy and smoking that stogey. (Bless his wicked l'il heart) . Hey Bat -- how about joining us next game instead of just kipitzing!

od38 nn47 Gregory LaCava Saturday's Children ev William McGann Maybe It's Love lv I hope you are correct too! I keep hoping some day we can have a late start game that will give you a better chance to play. I had to put up with being interrupted for breakfast, physical therapy, first day of the month bedsore check, clean up and lunch plus two phone calls. The game started before wake up time for me, which always means having to play catch up. Maybe for some future contest I'll just post an all-nighter for the night owls and those in faraway places, Linda.

I can predict that 'covfefe' is destined to replace 'gaffe' in the lexicon of Garth Games, Jervis.

mattgarthWas totally out of my element on this one. That and the computer was doing it's molasses imitation aka "we cannot reproduce the problem". Am hoping that you are using kibitz in the "sit and chat" sense and not as a synonym for kvetch. Hope that you go easy on poor Lydia (The Poor Overworked Liberry Lady. 'Tis a rare error the sweet thing makes. Saturday ? Rut Ro.

WOW it took that long to complete!!!! Must have been the most difficult game so far. I'm sorry I was too tired in the end to play along, but I'm glad for the points "I stole from the other players" (blink blink) It did itch me a bit though that I did answer Saturday's Children, but I looked forward in time and found a remake, while I now understand I should have looked backwards in time instead. Everything takes longer for me since I have to translate everything back and forth, and just because a title is the same in English they are not the same in Swedish, for example All the Brothers Where Valiant 1923 and 1953 is the same in English versions, but in Swedish they have been called De voro alla tappra män 1923 and Farornas hav 1953. Just explaining why I'm slow, Though I was too quick with Moby Dick LOL, for once... It's just a friendly game, so I don't mind if somene managed to peek before I had to erase it to follow the rules.

Geez, Tele -- and I thought I had it tough!
Maybe I'll make it up to you and do an all Ingemar Bergman quiz someday.
