So based on the season finales of all 4 Berlanti shows, I have a theory…
I think they will do a time jump next season…like 2 years at least on all 4 shows.
It makes perfect sense for 2 of them, and could work well for the other 2 as well…
Arrow it is almost a necessity, and if one does it, they kind of all have to.
Arrow: A time jump would allow them to not come up with a conveniently placed bunker that all of Oliver’s loved ones dove into. It would let them maybe hint that they hadn’t found everyone yet and then maybe a reveal comes later. Then they can incorporate the flashbacks again, but this time with how each person survived the island. It would also let us jump past “Awkward Oliver learning how to be a Dad” and could have William already running around as Red Arrow. Because, let’s face it, if anybody actually died on that island, it was William’s mother (.
..and Merlyn and Boomerang. Slade is 50/50, but can you actually see them killing ANYBODY else? Wild Dog, New Canary and Siren are the most likely, but I think they have all been confirmed as regulars next season. Though it isn't looking good for Evelyn Sharpe locked in a steel cage as the world around her explodes.)
Flash: Gives us a year or two of a Barryless city. Cements Tracy and Julian more firmly in the team (or could have them gone as a mystery that is revealed during the season.) Caitlyn can have already have “found” herself and returned. Allows any number of developments with Joe, Cisco, Gypsy, Wally and Jessie. Iris could find a new love, putting off them finally getting together again.
Legends: (Taking into account what we have heard thusfar) Gives time to let Rip establish his new “Timecops”. Lets the fixing of the timeline be something we can find out about throughout the season, and will probably be what starts the rift between Rip and the Team. Mick and Sara are on that vacation after fixing the timeline we saw at the finale. Again, could allow for any number of developments with the rest of the team.
Supergirl: (Taking into account what we have heard thusfar) Supergirl living without Mon El for a couple of years. Cat can have been there for a few years and can be leaving again on a new sabbatical. They can take some major jumps with James to figure out his story. With Floriana Lima no longer a regular, we could assume that she and Alex maybe got married and are divorcing…or have already broken up and we get the reveal of what happened throughout the season. And as with the others, the rest of the team can do just about anything.
Thoughts?
Contradictions?
