Might not be MCU movies! Logan-92% RT WW- 97% RT Holy crap! Who'd a thunk it? When has this ever happened!? No, I'm not trolling anyone. I just find this to be quite surprising and sort of refreshing that other franchises are starting to really deliver. And I fully expect Spidey and Thor to get good reviews too, but these two scores will be hard to top...

There next outings in those respective franchises have to be nearly perfect to please. We'll see... SaveSave

But successs in other franchises is good for Marvel and the genre as a whole. Most people don't care about studios or even comic labels. Most people I talk to IRL don't even know that the X Men are made by a different studio, much less care.

It is refreshing. It's cool to see fans of different superhero film franchises get what they want for once (for the most part).

I loved Logan and Im very excited for WW. I just love these type of films. I will not deny my preference is the MCU but the more great CBM's the better. On a personal note I liked GotG vol. 2 more than I liked Logan. But its 9/10 over 8/10 so its not that much of a difference.

I didn't love Logan as much as most people did. Thought it was just a touch too nihilistic and violent. So by "best" I'm pretty much just referring to the objective "best" and RT scores are a good way to measure that. Everyone's favorites will vary.

Can you imagine if those two companies are both making amazing movies and getting each other to great heights?

And I think it will start to happen, but I don't think JL will be a part of that. I really hope I'm wrong, but I just don't like Snyder's vision for these characters. I am excited for the next Superman movie, whenever it's released, because I think they've learned from WW that being true to the tone of th comics is the best course of action.

I also am not a fan of Snyders vision. He is very good at filming cool shots but his storytelling leaves a lot to be desired. Allthough the circumstances of his departure on the Justice League movie are utterly tragic and I would have wished fhey never happened it also gives hope for the moviebecause Joss Whedon is taking over. Whedon is in control of the reshoots and will finish the film. Whedon is an excellent storyteller and knows his way around ensemble casts. He proved so with both Avengers movies. So Justice League with a lot of Snyders shots and Whedons editing could turn out to be a great film. I have good hope.

To be fair, there's still Homecoming and Ragnarok coming up. I doubt Homecoming can match those numbers but Ragnarok just might. That said, I'm pretty sure WW can't maintain such a high score. Probably end up either in high 80's or low 90's.

I hope it works, but that may just make things worse, a "too many cooks in the kitchen" scenario.

Having searched and read the news about Snyder I just wanted to add that what happened to him is horrible and tragic. I wish him and his wife the best.

Thats the worst case scenario.

Why so much reliance everywhere on RT scores?
I'm expecting (hoping) for a lot from WW.
JLA I don't have high hopes for
Spider-Man I think might surprise me
Thor I think will prove to be the big success
Kingsman 2 could either be amazing or a little disappointing

eh, Guardians already beat out Logan in my book.
then again, the forthcoming ones will have to achieve a lot to match Logan. i am pulling for Spidey.

I'm sure Wonder Woman will be good film, at least, and so far most of the reviews I've read have been positive, but almost all are judging it against the earlier DCEU films which were not so popular critically. I can't help thinking the reviews are slighty better because of that comparison

It isn't perfect but it's a good measuring stick. I respectfully disagree. As I understand Rotten Tomatoes it just adds up the amount of good and bad reviews and bases a percentage on that calculation. But how do they decide a review is bad? Do they also include reviews in other languages than english? And if the review states the movie is mediocre does that count as a good or bad review? I will take Iron Fist as an example. Lots of reviews counted for the RT scores were based on the first 6 episodes or even only the first. The show definitely picks up in the last few episodes so that part doesnt get translated in the score. Also a lot of reviews were bad because they said the main character should have been Asian. Well that isnt fair since the Iron Fist they went with was Danny Rand who always have been a white guy. Still it didnt help the RT score even though its clearly weird. Dont get me wrong I have my issues with Iron Fist and think its the weakest thing in the MCU but its a better show than the RT score would have you believe.

I'm not hailing RT as a perfect entity of movie judgement. But what else is there to go off of to get a sense of a general objective reception? Fan reaction is too mixed to ever get anything close to unbiased.
