Less than 5 minutes in season 2 of Mando is all it took to show this guy is a bad mother fucker.
Then he got his own show and needed physical therapy every episode. It even started off ok. His escape was a great representation of what we've read in comics an novels or envisioned in our minds. But aside from that, he was getting outclassed in every fight.... IN HIS OWN SHOW. Now, it's ok Black K whooped his ass. He's a fucking beast. A machine. Easily the best action sequence of the show. It was meant to show just how dangerous he is. Would a rematch with Boba in the armor getting the best of him made sense as a way of giving Fett the win and serving as a means of him and Black K coming to an understanding? 100%, but I digress. He simply got his ass kicked too much. He's old, I get it. I am getting there myself. It's ok to show he is human, but they went a little too far with it. That was the first problem.
Then there's the biggest one imo, which was this idea of Fett becoming some kind of benevolent leader. They changed his personality even just from Mando. He was still mean there. He had a code, but bailed on the final fight because he didn't give a shit. He's a killer. A gun for hire. Him wanting the top spot? No problem. It was awesome how he marched into into Jabba's Palace and took it. But then he suddenly cared about the welfare of people on Tatooine. He wasn't a villain anymore. This is the guy we saw just a few months prior kicking the shit out of people in Mando. This is the guy who had such a reputation, Vader - who regularly killed coworkers - had to tell him not to kill his quarry.
Why does he suddenly care about other people? Because Sand People saved his life...after making him a slave? They only care because he saved one of their kids Part of me found it interesting to see more of a peek into their culture, part of me didn't care and buy this as motivation for is change in heart. But was the idea of Boba Fett having a change of heart a flawed premise or was it how it was presented that was the problem?
We all know the Vespa Gang was an issue. Just laughable.
This show is barely watchable. The only thing that make it tolerable are some good fight scenes (between bad ones) and Mando and Baby Yoda saving the day. The rest in between sucked.

I could get behind the change of heart, but Boba still needed to be more ruthless. Also, he needed to wear the helmet more!

Both. It had little moments that were decent but it was altogether mediocre at best.

The issue is that The Mandalorian was obviously created to be the Boba Fett show/movie fans always wanted. Then they brought Boba back anyway.
I excused it because they did his return so well in Mando S2, but then they ruined it with his own show.
He never should’ve had his own show. It was wholly unnecessary. In other words, it was the content and the execution. It never stood a chance.

He became popular based on 12 minutes of screen time. People want to see him unleash his fury. And we did in season 2 of Mando, which was awesome. That was such a perfect portrayal of him. But what they gave us in his own show.... they just changed the character.

I didn’t mind the Boba Fett series so saved my grumbles for the Ben Kenobi train wreck.

I thought they ruined the concept of Kenobi having adventures outside the main story by bringing in Vader, Luke and Lia in a way that failed to connect with the original Star Wars. It started off well and I had high hopes but the whole drama ended in an anti climatic confrontation. Although I called it a train wreck it still had plenty of good bits.

I actually objected to the premise too. Obi Wan and Vader never met again until the Death Star. There were only 2 fights. We all know it. Obi Wan flat out disappeared and casually kept and eye on Luke. He never fought Vader two more times in between the final fight, went planet hopping, and he sure as shit never met Leia.
But I did enjoy the execution. Their two duels were better than what we saw in ROTS. It was less cartoony and choreographed. There was more real emotion there. Obi Wan was terrified from the idea that Vader was still alive. He was defeated. His side lost and he essentially gave up. Then he finds out Vader was still alive? Good stuff. It just never happened imo.
