One of the major Kurosawa films I'd not seen until very recently. Visually stunning and perhaps his most experimental. Would probably make my Top 3 of his films
Love all eight of the individual episodes
Episode 3: "The Blizzard" Episode 1: "Sunshine Through the Rain" Episode 8: "Village of the Watermills" Episode 2: "The Peach Orchard" Episode 7: "The Weeping Demon" Episode 5: "Crows" Episode 4: "The Tunnel" Episode 6: "Mount Fuji in Red"

I need to rewatch it as it's probably been 10+ years since I've seen it. That said, the one that has left a lasting impression on me is one of the lowest on your list. The Tunnel I can remember vividly even though I don't recall all the others.

The Tunnel I can remember vividly even though I don't recall all the others. That's the one that made the most impression on me too. Almost mentioned it earlier.

The Tunnel I can remember vividly even though I don't recall all the others. It was difficult to rank. I liked all the episodes, I just liked most of the others even more. I particularly liked how the storm in "The Blizzard" turned it almost abstract and I liked the subdued pastoral feel of "Sunshine Through the Rain", "The Village of Watermills", and "The Peach Orchard". "The Tunnel" is very striking and I can see how it would be one that stays with you.

I wouldn't know where to begin. I loved it when I first saw it, then bought the DVD, and upgraded to the Criterion Blu-Ray when it was released. I've watched it maybe two years ago and was again impressed by it, but I don't remember the different segments well enough to be able to rank them.

Fair enough, like I said it was difficult enough to rank them even after just watching it.
