Shanahan I get, with the QB carousel going on there. But Pederson and Daboll each had like half a quality season. Weird that the team with the best record in the conference didn't at least get a nod.

I’m assuming it also does in the NHL and NBA but I can’t say for sure.

Voting before the entire season (playoffs included) is over is Dumb.....

Daboll should win - he did a remarkable job with the Giants, turning a team that had been very weak the past few years into a playoff team in his first year and getting them their first playoff win since Super Bowl 46, very impressive. He got the most out of what the Giants have and has got them on the right track.

I thought the Seahawks were going to have the number one pick for 2023 before the season started. I would have voted for Carroll.

Has to be Sirianni, right? Then again, Daboll's Giants were 4-13 last year. Big turnaround.
I don't think you can give it to Shanahan, the 9ers are loaded with great players. And they still might not be able to beat Sirianni's Eagles in the NFC title game.
Pederson is a viable choice as well. 3-14 previous season to winning a playoff game. Wow... impressive. maybe more so than what Daboll did with the Giants.
I'm not too disappointed in their pics but still seems like Sirianni would have at least gotten a nomination.

It's quite alright with me. We're going to fuel off of all the disrespect and hate we're getting from the masses They announced the comeback player of the year award finalists too - Saquon Barkley Geno Smith Christian McCaffery All terrific choices and great stories this year; however their story pales in comparison to the true winner BG

Of those three, it has to be Geno Smith. But all three are pretty good choices.
And yeah, people just don't like the Eagles that much. For the most part, I don't really have a horse in this race but I did take the 49s to win the NFC titel game in the weekly pick'em. haha...
And where have you been, treefrogs? Many of us were posting messages about your absence. Don't worry, most of them were good.

Thanks. I appreciate that. Hope all's well with you. Just concentrating on being happy, productive and positive 9ers game is intriguing. Awesome defense. We haven't played a defense like theirs this year. Curious to see the Nick Bosa/Lane Johnson matchup. Lane is getting surgery after the season. Torn Adductor. Plus Jalen isn't 100% healthy. But these aren't excuses. Every team is dinged up this time of year. Curious to see how Mahomes plays vs. the Bengals with a high ankle sprain. That would be some heroic stuff right there if he pulls it off and wins. We've only beaten ourselves this year with mistakes and coaching. Purdy is a great story. I just can't see a rookie and the last pick of the draft going on the road and pulling off a win in the NFC Championship game. But if he does it will be quite a story. Hoping Gannon has some wrinkles in the system we haven't seen this year like some safety blitzes on 3rd Down instead of falling back on a soft zone all the time. 1 loss - Dak was 24/24 against zone coverage against us and another Washington was like 12/16 on 3rd Downs at one point against a soft zone coverage. Hoping we continue to run the ball too. We sometimes have a tendency to fall in love with the pass which gets us in trouble by putting the defense right back on the field after they've been out the for like 8 plus minutes. Can't go 3 and out continuously (like we did vs. The Saints) when your defense is on the sidelines sucking air looking for a break

Yeah, I'd vote for Geno for Comeback Player. I was the one laughing the loudest when Seattle named him as the starting QB. Lo and behold, Geno gets the Seabags into the playoffs. And I'd cast my vote for Brian Dabroll for HCOTY. I told y'all that the G-Men made the best hire.
Jalen Hurts should be MVP. I was wrong about him. Getting AJ Brown (nice move, Tennessee!) and a full healthy year from Miles Sanders helped a lot.
And the J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets should get both ROY. Sauce Gardner is almost a lock for defensive ROY and Garrett Wilson should get the offensive nod. Brock Purdy might be a popular pick but he's only started in five games. Fuck, the Jets had a hell of a draft. Both ROY's, the other 1st, Jermaine Johnson II looks like a keeper, Breese Hall was looking great before he got hurt (I wanted the Bills to draft him ). If they get a QB, they could be terrifying.

Kurt Warner, Warren Moon, Tony Romo, Jeff Garcia and Dave Krieg all went lower than Purdy in the draft, i.e. were undrafted.

Living up to expectations is less impressive, generally, than building success out of failure. Shanahan rolled with the considerable challenges throughout the year, and Daboll and Pederson both built winners out of losers without really shaking up their rosters. Therefore it would seem that just their approaches as coaches (cool rhyme) made all the difference.

Every year it’s just “the coach who surprised the most with a team that was bad the previous season” - I’d go Daboll because I haven’t forgotten that the Jags started 2-6.
