And I will say one thing, the reason that I'm about to mention I don't think it's ever been mentioned by anybody ever... just sayin.
Their song subdivisions. Because, here's the thing I'm saying. What if the song was called race divisions. Ok, now I think you are starting to see what I'm saying. Now you're starting to catch my drift.

I just wanna state the obvious here in regards to that one song. Nobody involved in the process of making that song had any intent of making a racist song.
And when I say anyone involved in the making of that song I of course mean the songwriter of that song. And of course you know that already , so I don't why I'm telling you.
So, basically no one involved in that song had any intention of making a racist song. But in today's world it would be viewed as a racist song.

It doesn't condone or advocate subdivisions. If it was "Race Divisions" it would be an anti-racism song. So, basically no one involved in that song had any intention of making a racist song. Looks like you just answered your own clickbait question.

It's a song about white kids not fitting in or whatever. Because no where in the song did they talk about race. So one would have to assume it's about white kids. And, this band is all white.
But, you would have to assume that black people in general have it a bit tougher to fit in.
With this song, this band didn't look at the big picture. Since white people make up the majority of the polulation, definitely at least for the u.s.

It's about subdivisions. You're projecting racism.

"Conform of be cast out"
It's about fitting in or being an outcast in the suburbs. Either conform or leave.
"Any escape might help to smooth The unattractive truth But the suburbs have no charms to soothe The restless dreams of youth"
As usual, the lyrics went sailing over your head.
