Any thoughts on this somewhat controversial indie drama?

About how it's officially not available in the United States? Or how Tobey Maguire and Leonardo DiCaprio think they were misled in thinking it was a short film?
Just thinking out loud.

Aren't these two things basically connected? From what I could gather they were upset, that the movie could show them in a bad light, the subject matter was propably too close to home for them, so they had it banned in the US.
I haven't seen it myself, was just wondering whether it would be worth watching. Is there anything to the movie aside from the controversy of Leo and Tobey playing two sexist jerks, does it work at all as a halfway decent drama, or is it just some amateurish low-budget flick?

Haven't seen it. I hate how some films are banned in the U.S., who controls that? It took me a year to get Woody Allen's "Rifkin's Festival" because it wasn't going to be released in the U.S. His next film is going to be entirely in French, it will also be difficult to obtain.

I thought it was alright. DiCaprio gives a strong performance.

Supposedly Tobey lead the charge, even though he doesn't come off that bad in it. It's Leo's character who's a real douchebag, and jury's out on how much of it is a performance (apparently, through his character, he bullied the girl who played Tara on Buffy off the set because he thought she was a weak actress). But he's compelling to watch. Everything else is just kind of mediocre and forgettable.

It was okay, but probably wouldn't be talked about today if it didn't have DiCaprio in it.
I think it was YouTube, not sure, where I finally tracked it down.
