Will we ever see the real Hulk again?

Some of us fans of the 1970s/1980s live action TV show would disagree...

It ran for 5 years and had 3 TV Movies after that, all with the Hulk being a mindless Ragebeast, and it worked... and worked well.



I loved "The Incredible Hulk" (2008), and the First Avengers film was good too...

But it has been going downhill since... and I don't want to see anymore of the Banner/Hulk hybrid. Ever... And I am saying that as a long time fan of the character.

The Banner/Hulk hybrid is the most idea they did in the MCU.

It wouldve been really interesting to see him go back to Sakaar...but then they threw that last minute shot in with Skaar in She Hulk and completely popped that bubble. 

The Ruffalo’s ruined the character. They developed the character well as Bruce Banner but ruined him as the Hulk. The Ruffalo MCU Hulk is the worst one that there is! Worse than the CBS show Hulk. Worse than the comic book Hulk. Worse than the Universal Pictures Hulk. Worse than the Norton MCU Hulk.

Let me explain why I say the Ruffalo Hulk is the worst one of all.

First off, he’s the physically weakest Hulk (with the exception of the CBS show Hulk). The other two movie Hulks were stronger. And the comic book Hulk is much stronger.

 Then how he was used (particularly as a member of the Avengers) was wasted. He was backup muscle, as Thor was the main muscle. When he wasn’t that, he was out of control or he was inexplicably a coward.

Here’s an example of how they could’ve used him much better. In Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series: season 7, the last 2 episodes - all of the clone trooopers are affected by Order 66. They set out to kill anyone who uses the Force on a starship that’s filled with them and Ashoka. She’s like a Jedi. Darth Maul is imprisoned on the ship. Even though he is Ashoka’s enemy she sets him free. The reason is she wants him to play the part of antihero who wreaks havoc against the clone troopers. And he ends up being so good at it that they are constantly distracted and can’t stay organized to carry out their plans. That’s how the Hulk should’ve been used.

He’s strong and powerful enough to disrupt the bad guy and their henchmen. And you don’t have to have him be mindless. He could be drawing from Banners intelligence and purposely directing his chaos and attacks like Maul.

Also he doesn’t have to be a mindless rage beast but he should always have some source of conflict going on. Maybe he’s driven by conflict of wanting to prove he’s more valuable to the Avengers as Hulk than Banner is. Or maybe it’s something else. But Hulk without conflict is like Thor without his hammer. And that’s basically what the Ruffalos did to their version of the Hulk.

Honestly I wish Universal would reclaim the character and reboot it. There’s nothing left to do with him in the MCU.

I know that the Hulk was been stuck in a repetitive rut for about 30 years or so, yes.

I thought Avengers 1 was the best balance because Bruce actually had a dark edge to him then. That was interesting. Now Banner is just a bro-dude.

It is surprising that Hulk only started speaking in Ragnorock and then was benched for a movie before being replaced with Smart Hulk. It’s a shame the talking Hulk never interacted with the other Avengers for a movie or two.
