I have just returned home from the cinema and I have to say I am furious at the way so many people acted. We have all experienced ignorant people talking loudly in the cinema, but what I went through today went way beyond the usual annoyances. I had just finished a long day at work and me and a couple of colleagues decided to chill and go see a dope movie. Big mistake. We took our seats and everyone was chatting. This was fine as the movie had not yet started. However, when the movie did start there was this guy sat a few rows in front that continued talking very loudly. I ignored him for a few minutes but he just kept on and on until I had enough. I walked up to him and screamed at the top of my lungs 'This is a cinema you stupid prick, now shut your Goddamn mouth before I put my boot up your ass'. He told me to F off so I grabbed him and threw him off the balcony. He fell about 20 feet and had to be taken to hospital.
So we started watching the movie again and about 10 minutes later this teenage girl behind me starts eating popcorn really loudly. I turned around and shouted as loud as I could that she should shut her mouth. Then her CELL PHONE WENT OFF. This was the last straw. I grabbed the phone and threw it against the wall with all my might. It smashed into tiny pieces. As the audience applauded me I screamed in her face 'get out of the cinema you ugly whore'.
Another 10 minutes passed and this ignorant old man a few rows down started having a coughing fit. I had run out of patience by this point. I walked up to him, put my hand menacingly on his shoulder and gently said 'either stop coughing or I will kick the crap out of you old man'. He immediately left the cinema.
At this point a member of staff approached me and said that there had been complaints made about me. ME! I grabbed her by the throat and screamed in her face 'I am defending the people who are trying to watch this movie in peace you stupid bitch'. I then violently threw her down the stairs and she struggled to her feet and she faced a lot of jeers and popcorn throwing from the audience.
Then as I went to sit down, these two idiot kids at the very front started talking and laughing. My colleagues wouldn't let me do anything so I had to just put up with it for the rest of the movie. When the movie was over, I confronted the dad and told him to never bring his kids to the movies again. He told me to mind my own business so I lost my temper. I whooped his ass in front of his kids and then I stormed out of the cinema in a fit of fury.
I was so mad about the experience that when I got home I trashed my apartment and smashed the windows.
Very angry.

I hope this is a satirical post--but I agree that audiences today are not as circumspect regarding their behavior as they used to be--We usually wait until a movie has been out awhile before seeing it in the theater, less people less annoyances

It is a troll.

I stopped going when i paid like $22 a person. Granted, it was SF,possibly the most expensive city in the US, but still. $22! A person ? Not to mention $10 popcorn and $7 drinks. AND parking. Grand total for this excursion? Like almost $80. For a shit Liam Neeson movie. Fucking SF. Never again.

Thankfully i have been lucky in this regard but i suspect a lot of it is because i have not been to the theaters all that much in this modern area where all of these kids nowadays have no respect for others. might as well say the smart phone era(roughly a decade now, maybe a bit more), or not much before this. hell, just in the current decade i have only been to the theaters three times (once in late 2010, twice in 2011) and the movies i saw are not the type to attract large crowds (True Grit (2010)/Drive (2011)/In Time (2011)). even in the 2000's my times to the theaters was limited. ill be 38 years old later this year so basically i go back to the 1990's before modern technology took over as that was more around 1998-2000 when computers/cell phones etc started to become more mainstream but i suspect it was still a fair amount past that before you started seeing a fair amount of people online with stories of those acting up which is why i kinda estimate it to be somewhere in the ball park of the mid-2000's with the no respect for anyone generation kicked in, pretty much. but with that said... i imagine just about every generation probably has someone acting up occasionally but i would imagine that's generally gotten worse with this current generation or so. also, i suspect the kind of movie you go and see can raise or lower your chances of someone acting up as i suspect the really mainstream movies, like Super Hero movies (or basically any high $$$ type of movie) for example, tend to attract the kids and raises the chances of them acting up as there almost always seems to be some jag off amongst them somewhere who thinks they are cool by acting up etc etc. sure, i understand there is going to be a little noise here and there and that's fine but after a certain point the person is just plain out of line. or put it this way... if i was in a theater and i started getting upset with someone chances are quite a few others would be upset along with myself at that point as i would not be quick to go off on someone as you got to leave a little room in there but after a while it's just out of line and they either need to be quiet or leave. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- outrider127i am sure it's not true as throwing someone off the balcony/falling 20feet/going to hospital are red flags that the post is not a true story. plus, i am sure it would get someone in a lot of trouble regardless if the person had it coming or not. for the record... but if someone was acting up and someone else went off on the person acting up it would be a reflex to cheer on the person getting physical with the person who acted up as it's not hard to act half way decently in a theater but for some people it's almost impossible it seems but these people i am confident have little to no respect for people in general and were not taught that stuff when they where younger by parents who are too lax and never disciplined their child. but what i don't get... is if someone is going to act up in a theater WHY would they even bother going to the theaters in the first place.

For years now, I always try to plan my trip to the cinema on Sunday afternoon. The crowds seem to be mostly adults or parents with their children, I rarely have any complaints.

Who woulda thought a mall janitor had such a violent imagination? I wonder if getting laughed at all day by millennials has anything to do with it?
