As a woman, I'm glad that Wonder Woman finally has her movie and that fans/critics are responding well to it. Her warm reception is good news for the future of credible superhero films that feature women in leading roles.
Personally, I find the character a bit old fashioned. I don't read Wonder Woman comics, and I've never gone in for her ancient-world underpinnings. Wonder Woman was the torch that lit the way, but there is a whole new generation of more nuanced female characters that are much more interesting to me.
I'll say one thing about the character that the DCEU has done very well. Wonder Woman is unapologetically aggressive and assertive. Hoping for the same from Captain Marvel and Black Widow.
I could totally see Zatanna, top hat in tow, leading a (hit) solo film. DCEU, make it happen.

If I had to pick four as of now, I'd go with Black Widow, She-Hulk, Super-Girl, and Mistique.

gimme gimme Squirrel Girl.
i wouldn't hold my breath for Zatanna;she's tied up with JLD.
dunno if it's quite appropriate to call her a superhero but that Battle Angel movie is apparently finally happening.

Well, if that's the case, I'd slot in Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. I like their strange pairing over Squirrel Girl's antics. SaveSaveSaveSaveSaveSave

I love that Captain Marvel is coming, and I'd be interested in a Spiderwoman, and She-Hulk. I'm honestly not sure about anybody else. Nobody comes to mind that I just have to see in a solo. I really don't need a Widow film. I love what they've done with her and the roll she plays.

They've had 9 years to make a Black Widow film and they refused to make it. MCU doesn't want to make female-led superhero movies. That's thy the lead character in all 15 MCU movies so far has been a Caucasian male. MCU wouldn't have even made a Captain Marvel movie if DCEU hadn't announced a Wonder Woman movie first.

i hope no Black Widow film.
It might be fun to launch a new character in film before even before a comic

i hope no Black Widow film. It might be fun to launch a new character in film before even before a comic I have to agree. I honestly can't see how a Black Widow film, at this point, is anything other than a step back.
Now that being said, I am on record as saying Phase 4 could very well be Marvel's "do whatever they fuck they want to phase". They'll have built up so much capital they could take some serious risks if they wanted and just do anything. So if they feel like taking a film that doesn't do anything but be a fun Black Widow film with no grander expectations, then fine. I'll be there for it. I just really think they've got bigger fish in mind.

Do you literally have like three or four singular thoughts bouncing around in your empty head? You've posted this obnoxious, redundant, vaguely chauvinist nonsense about Black Widow like fifty fucking god damn times. You don't want to watch a Black Widow movie, because your raging homosexuality prevents you from being able to enjoy a female in a centerpiece/lead role. That's FINE. We get it. Move on.

Why a Black Widow movie anyway? It would consist of one hour of shots of Widow's arse and the rest would be filled with her scissoring her opponents around the neck.
Mmm now that I think of it...

Make it a non-origin origin story about how she got into the Red Room and the events before she got into SHIELD (set now of course). Bring in villains Ivan Petrovitch (as the guy that brought her there) and Alexei "Red Guardian" Shostakov (her ex) for the muscle. Then go superhero James Bond on it. They can add in whatever they want that would lead into whatever bigger story they are going to do. Like the Russians know the Beyonder is starting the Secret Wars or something. You make the movie personal so she wouldn't want to involve Stark or the Avengers or SHIELD. I'd like to see a Thunderbolts movie told from the perspective of Jolt. Could kinda be Marvel's Suicide Squad. The beauty of this is that you really don't have to have them be known villains like in the comics (We already have Zemo). Maybe have a walk-by on a tv news story saying there was a break out at the Raft of about 4-5 villains. Anya Corazon's Spider-girl could be good. Daughters of the Dragon. Would rather see a movie of this than try to draw our 8-13 episodes on Netflix.

You can make a simple spy movie with Black Widow, no need to reinvent the wheel here. Make it about the mission at hand and include flashbacks about her dirty deeds. If they're gonna bother with a whole new Spider-Man movie featuring Iron Man, they can foot the bill for a $50M Black Widow movie. Release it in February.

The question is whether there are better things to do with the limited movies they put out. When you start thinking of all the sequels that are in line for Panther, Strange, Marvel, Spidey, and Guardians, Plus any new characters, and then whatever fits into the cosmic theme they've been talking about, I'm just not sure that Black Widow makes the cut. And that's on top of the idea that Fiege is talking about Phase 4 being different, and Widow clearly represents what has been the same. I just wouldn't count on it, that's all I'm saying.

But we could speculate on what a Widow film could be all day, I just don't think A: There's any room for it, and B: It makes much sense at this point.
They're talking about going cosmic and that phase 4 will be very different, and Widow clearly doesn't represent either of those two qualities.
And then we have to consider the number of films they can make. We pretty much know that there are sequels coming for Strange, Panther, Spidey, Marvel, and Guardians, plus perhaps a new character, more of the cosmic films they're talking about, and maybe even a new Cap, Thor, or Iron Man film. Just looking at that list at least 7 of those would get made, and that's more than 2 years worth, after Avengers 4, which is another year away. I just don't see where a Widow film fits in to any of that. I really don't.

We know. It's literally all you discuss apart from your bizarre and weirdly sexual posts about how hot under the collar you get when reading about how much money Disney executives and shareholders are earning.

Right now, Black Widow deserves a movie of her own, more than any other female superhero.
