The Frederick Valentich UFO Incident
Some theories have suggested that Valentich saw the lights in the water BELOW him and that the lights were from his plane... IMPOSSIBLE... He said ABOVE. and if he saw lights came from his plane, he would have been flying UPSIDE DOWN...
(Strap yourself into an upside down seat, and then tell me that your right side up... Yeah, I don't think so...)
Another theory was, that Valentich was a UFO nut, and it was a hoax...
"Unsolved Mysteries" did a segment on his story in the early 1990s...
...And they claimed there were some eyewitnesses, that saw his plane being flowed by a green light, and recreated their claim...
Valentich was not flying upside down, and green lights were seen above the plane...
So, what was the green light...
What happened to Valentich and his plane?
and What was the mysterious unidentified noise described as "metallic, scraping sounds"?

I found the Mahogany Ship a bit fascinating. Sounds pretty interesting elaborate. Basically it's a shipwreck that had been reported on the south coast of Australia back in the 19th century. Its notoriety stems from speculation by writers that it could had been a Portuguese or Spanish vessel from the Age of Discovery. Or a Chinese junk according to another. All this would radically alter the historiography surrounding European exploration of Australia.

went missing in 2004 in Western Sydney. She has never been found. On November 10th of 2005, 18 month old Rahma El-Dennaoui was reported missing from her parents home in Lurnea, Sydney. Despite many extensive searches, no trace of her has ever been found. "Rahma was sleeping between two of her sisters on a double bed under the window on the night of 9 November 2005. She had trouble sleeping in the heat and her father got up and went to check on her at 2 am. When he returned at 8 am, she was gone." There was a cut in the flyscreen that was large enough for Rahma to fit through, and her older sister reported seeing a "man without hands" take her sister. An inquest heard that Rahma's father was a known drug dealer and that "the neighbour heard an argument between Rahma's parents after their daughter swallowed an ecstasy tablet." What I particularly find strange is that when a photo of her was released, it was of when she was 8 months old. Quote: "police caution that photos of her are scarce and this one was taken 10 months ago." Theories: It is suspected that Rahma accidentally swallowed an ecstacy tablet and passed away, and that her death was covered up by her parents. After her disappearance they were recorded speaking in code about her disappearance and the inquest. It was also reported at the inquest that some individuals had been overheard talking about how Rahma was accidentally killed by her father and then buried at a relative's farm. Other theories include that she was abducted by a known sex offender in the area, or that she was abducted and taken to Lebanon, where she may still be alive. Comments from the Coroner: Rahma El-Dennaoui did not simply vanish into thin air,' the coroner said. She did not accept the family's belief that a total stranger had abducted their daughter but at the same time conceded the possibility that someone may have taken the little girl to raise as their own. The coroner also said that there was 'no conclusive evidence' to suggest the 19-month-old's family had staged her kidnapping. However, she added that there were a number of 'troubling' aspects to their version of events and telephone intercepts revealed what she termed 'puzzling' behaviour from what was supposed to be a grieving family. In particular, the joking and laughing by Rahma's parents with third parties about the kidnapping and the splitting of the reward money, the specific references to avoiding talking about the inquest on the telephone and actually talking in code,' Deputy Coroner Freund said. Tony Jones. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disappearance_of_Tony_JonesThis one is in my part of the world, and it remains a real puzzler. There are people in my family who were living in those towns mentioned in the article during the time of his disappearance, and one story I've been told is that there were two men (they were brothers) who were known to be very dangerous when drunk, and they probably killed him in a fight at the pub they were regulars at. According to one story, a man was known to have been brutally beaten up in the pub around the time Tony Jones disappeared, and what happened to him after that remains unknown. What's interesting is that he'd shaved his beard just before setting off from Townsville to Mt Isa, yet all the photos printed of Tony to help find him all have that one with the beard, and that people remember seeing a man fitting his description with a beard just like his in that region at the time.
