Are you sure you are not thinking of A Goofy Movie? An Extremely Goofy Movie is the straight-to-video sequel. You are correct, I was thinking of the wrong one. I haven't seen this one. I understand why people are fans of the first movie. It captures the spirit of the animated series Goof Troop very well. My issue with it is that the story isn't strong enough for a 1 hour + movie. Both the first and the second movie are fun in their own ways though. I am a fan of the animated series.

Welcome back to another week of the BEST & WORST edition of 'what movies did you see last week?' thread. For those who haven't been part of it before, basically your host (me) posts my weekly movies and you can comment on those and list your movie for the same time frame. I will get back to you on yours and you can talk to other users here about their films. It's a great place to talk about film. FIRST TIME FILM VIEWINGThe Father (2021, Florian Zeller)A dive into the sad decline of an elderly man (Anthony Hopkins) as dementia takes a hold of his reality. Well acted and a quality production and even though I enjoyed the film, it’s unlikely to get a rewatch. 7/10You People (2023, Kenya Barris) NetflixRace based romantic comedy as a Jewish man and a black woman navigate their families prejudices. Solid enough watch. 6/10REPEAT FILM VIEWING Death Wish (1974, Michael Winner) 4k UHD DiscThe classic vigilante film starring Charles Bronson still holds up well 7.5/10FIRST TIME TV VIEWINGThe Staircase (2022, Limited Series) In Flight Entertainment I had seen the documentary series about this criminal case already but wanted to check this out and it was well done but changed some of the characters involved too much SOLID TVVatican Girl (2022, Documentary Series) NetflixInteresting missing person case from inside the walls of the Vatican. Many theories and questions but not enough answers. SOLID TVWEEKLY FILM AWARDSBEST FILM: Death Wish BEST ACTOR: Anthony Hopkins - The Father BEST ACTRESS: Lauren London - You People BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR: Vincent Gardenia - Death Wish BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS: Olivia Coleman - The Father BEST EDITING: Bernard Gribble - Death Wish BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY: Ben Smithard - The Father BEST SCORE: Herbie Hancock - Death Wish BEST SCRIPT: Wendell Mayes - Death Wish BEST DIRECTOR: Michael Winner - Death Wish 10/10 - Perfection (or as close to it as possible) 09/10 - An Excellent film 08/10 - A VERY Good film 07/10 - A Good film 06/10 - A Solid film 05/10 - An Average film 04/10 - Below Average film 03/10 - A mostly bad film 02/10 - A mostly terrible film 01/10 - Awful through and through 00/10 - Not only awful but offensive Hi, Dark. Here I am. Yours: The Father 7/10 I thought it was O.K. Anthony Hopkins was great. I found the style a bit distracting. Yeah, it's definitely not a very rewatchable movie. Death Wish (1974) 7.5/10 Yeah, I enjoyed it. It's kind of trashy, but I don't mind that. Yeah, I watched Vatican Girl. I found it really engrossing, disturbing too. I ended up binge-watching it (which I rarely do...). Mine: The Banshees of Inesherin 8.5/10 Martin McDonagh's new movie, with Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson. I found it pretty powerful, funny too at times, but it really gets dark. Colin Farrell is really great, Oscar-worthy. Loved Brendan Gleeson and Kerry Condon too. The Rapture 7.5/10 It's a movie with Mimi Rogers, Michael Tolkin directed it, the writer of The Player. It's about a woman, who has a very liberated and open sex life, who, with other chosen people, receives a dream from God, that'sa warning for the coming Apocalypse and rapture. And things get pretty wild. I enjoyed it, it gets quite disturbing. The ending is really wild. Mimi Rogers is good. Larry Crowne 6/10 It's Tom Hanks movie, he stars in it to, it's about a man who loses his job, can't get another one and decides to join college, and falls for a professor there. Julia Roberts is the professor. I thought it was so-so, kind of bland. It could have been better, IMO. Julia Roberts is good though. I thought George Takei was funny too, he plays an economy professor.

Will finish

First Time Viewing Formula for a Murder (1985; Alberto De Martino) - Unfairly neglected late giallo. The plot is nothing special, but it has great cinematography, is suitably creepy and the director makes the most of a hackneyed concept. 7/10 TV The Strange Case Of Sherlock Holmes & Arthur Conan Doyle (2005; Cilla Ware) - BBC movie about Arthur Conan Doyle and the motivation behind his decision to "kill" Sherlock Holmes. Well-made and well-acted, but it feels a bit like a retread of themes already covered in the series Murder Rooms. 6/10 Repeat Viewing Scream (2022; Radio Science) - I gave this a second chance after hating it the first time around. This time I felt more invested in the plot, at least for the first half, but once they kill off a beloved regular character the entire movie turns to crap and the seemingly never-ending finale is terrible. 3/10 Speed (1994; Jan De Bont) - While it does have some typical 90s cheese, it still holds up pretty well. 8/10 Hey Raven, Just Seed from yours which i rate the same as you 8/10
