The CGI is pretty shoddy, but I guess that’s par for the course at this point.

Trailer before Guardians 3 was just about all Michael Keaton. I wonder if they're trimming as much Ezra from the movie as feasibly possible.

This board really is dead. Anyway, reviews are looking ok. I think it's rather telling that so much of the marketing and reviews are aimed at Keaton's Batman, not Ezra's the Flash.

This board really is dead. Anyway, reviews are looking ok. With the hype, you'd have thought it'd be in the 90s. 70 percent range is about consistent with the movie I saw.

And then it's sitting at 67%. It's fucking terrible. It's self-parody, it feels more like a Deadpool movie. The first 15 minutes of this movie play out like a Looney Tunes sketch. It's crazy that DC was so ridiculously grimdark with the Snyderverse, then did a hard pivot to shit like this. Every DC movie that comes out is somehow worse than the previous one. Keaton was easily the best part of it, but even his character was severely out of place in a dogfight with alien ships. Opening night and I don't think there were 30 people in the theater, this movie deserves to bomb.

Christ. This movie might actually make less at the box office than Black Adam. Say what you will about that movie, but it at least tried to get people excited for the future.

I saw it yesterday afternoon, and my general thoughts are this - entertaining, but not very well-written, and unfortunately mostly forgettable.
There are some pretty solid moments throughout the picture, but a lot of sloppy ones as well that would have been better left out of the finished product. I would say most of the movie is serviceable and enjoyable, but what stops it from being better is the overuse of humor from the younger version of Barry Allen. As the movie progresses, he becomes more tolerable and engaging as a character, but they really hammer in the fact that he's an airheaded college student who most definitely enjoys smoking his greens in his free time that I could only think of them as if someone spliced Otto Mann from The Simpsons, Ed from Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy, and that purple surfer fish from SpongeBob SquarePants (Because of his laugh, which gets old the second time he does it). Ezra Miller goes so overboard as the younger Barry Allen it reminded me of when Jim Carrey overacted the way he did as The Grinch in 2000. As I have said, he does improve as the movie progresses, but when the twist ending happens the impact of it in regard to him just doesn't feel anywhere as effective as the filmmakers want you to feel. Ezra Miller hasn't lead a movie in a long while, and this performance shows that, but he does pretty good mostly, interestingly he plays the DCEU Barry Allen like a young Robert Downey, Jr. and as the Younger Barry it is one half Jim Carrey and the other half Nicolas Cage (Who, yes, cameos).
Michael Keaton is always great and still has it as Batman, the new suit, gadgetry, and moves he does shows he definitely didn't get rusty when he retired for a period of time. The callbacks to his previous two outings were also pretty nice.
Sasha Calle is for sure a movie star quality actress, she does a lot in the short time she works in, and I really wish there would be more appearances of her as the character.
Ron Livingston does fine as Henry Allen, but Billy Crudup did the better job (Curse those schedule complications), Maribel Verdú definitely shined as Nora Allen especially in a scene towards the end that really hit home for me personally, though you wish she had more involvement once Barry travels back in time and meets his other self.
I was disappointed by Kirsey Clemons as Iris West, she and Miller had better chemistry in the Snyder cut of Justice League than in here where their scenes feel very rushed.
The musical score is very good, very reminiscent of Danny Elfman and Alan Silvestri.
This movie would have really benefitted from another pass in the editing room, and I think given the ending and post-credits scene we have they really probably should have just let the previous version stay (in which Keaton and Calle are both alive and well as Bruce Wayne and Kara, and are accompanied by Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Henry Cavill as Superman in civilian clothes, and a later scene where Ben Affleck sends a message from the Knightmare timeline).
Given the amount of reshoots, I wouldn't at all be surprised if there is a movement to release a different cut of the movie and deleted and alternate scenes make their way online that fans will declare as being rightfully canon to...Something.

So basically, the only reason this is getting good reviews from anyone is because of Keaton?

George Clooney’s Batman, CGI Nic Cage. Nuff said. Best movie ever. 🍿 We NEED the sequel with Chris ODonald Robin and AI Caesar Romero.

So I saw this last night...I mean, it's enjoyable up to a point but once we get to the Dark Flash and what's really going on it just feels like a rehash of that "What If?" episode with Dr Strange.
