Like I said, 800 million is a cool number and a great result. I never expected it to get to 1 billion. But isnt it the most important you liked the movie. So what if others do too or dont? Just enjoy what you like. This is a weird post.
Of course it's important that I liked it.
I'm just enjoying following the figures.
Who said they were more important?

You implied it with your fart-sniffing, insane obsession with them.

Less than a billion, Marvel is finished. Fast&Furious > MCU Exactly. The MCU is an inferior brand that peaked in 2012.

My comment was not directed at you. More in general. People are so obsessed with the box office numbers and if the movie they love or hate makes money or not. I really dont care that much about it. I saw a lot of negative comments about GotG vol. 2 not making a billion. Like thats bad or something. Just enjoy the movie. From whatever franchise.

He's too stupid to do anything but work his crappy and unsatisfying job, plunk down hard-earned cash to see McMarvel movies literally four dozen times, and then just stuff popcorn into his fat mouth for two straight hours like a swine. And then check the box office numbers on his phone to validate that he's not a total fucktard for wasting as much time and money as he has.

I agree, the billion number doesn't bother me at all. Although I will disagree that the number doesn't matter. If it turned out to be a complete bomb, whether you liked it or not, you would know the franchise was in trouble. That's why it's important, however, there is a large widow where the final number doesn't change the future of the franchise. Whether this made 800 or 1.2 billion, nothing would be different for the future. However if somehow it had made it to 1.5 billion or something crazy, the timeline of the next film might be moved up, they'd be planning spinoffs, etc. So the number does have an effect.

Well in that regard it is important to the studio I guess. To me as a fan of movies I either like or dislike a movie. When it comes to Marvel you know they will make money because they make good movies and have built up a fanbase. They wont get into trouble that easily.

Yeah I agree, and I don't care about the money for the money, but rather as a fan what it means to the future of the franchise.

Alright, fine. Because you asked nicely. Thank you, sir. We really do need an infusion of new blood here... The standing rivalries are becoming quite bitter. What's wrong with being surly?

As of right now, the plan is to take four friends and go see it on Tuesday. Happy accident has all five of us free that day.
