I hope all of his victims will be identified one day... It's also believed he had an Accomplice.

I hope all of his victims will be identified one day... It's also believed he had an Accomplice. Oh, great. I believe one of his one Survivors said he saw another person in the room with him while being tortured. Gacy pulled the "magic Handcuffs" trick. "The trick is to have the Keys!" He jumped out of the Car while Gacy drove him away and broke several Bones. But he manged to get to a random Street. Can't imagine the trauma of surviving a Serial killer.

I hope all of his victims will be identified one day... It's also believed he had an Accomplice. That was suggested in the excellent made-for-tv film To Catch a Killer. Ultimately no one was ever positively identified, though one might have been a guy who worked for Gacy in his contracting business.

The 2003 "Gacy" got alot of little details right. But not his capture and other things. Good low budget movie. I have a weird feeling we'll get another Netflix series on him like "Dahmer". It would have plenty of content to use.

To Catch A Killer actually stops short of implying that Gacy had an accomplice. Just that his main companion (actually the character in that afore-mentioned 2-part film was based upon 2 PEOPLE who were closely associated with him)had an inkling of what he was doing.

It's been several years since I last watched this. I do recollect that the companion character was based on a composite (as was the psychic), but I blurred on the film having Kozenczak thinking he was Gacy's possible accomplice on at least a few of the murders. Thanks for reminding me, and also reminding me I need to watch this again soon.

I watched the Gacy tapes on Netflix and one very fortunate man who managed to walk away was reliving his ordeal with Gacy. It was a very difficult thing for him to talk about and the mental mind and torture games Gacy put him through had him in crying during the encounter and during the retrospective interview. Wow!!!!

Wow!!!! That Gacy let him go, there can be no real answer for this, only that he must've felt the fear the kid displayed satiated his psychopathic need at the time. Yes. We just had a serial killer right here in the GTA that preyed upon young gay men. Did you hear about that?

I have the 3 hour version on disc (had to hunt like crazy to find it; usually only the severely edited 90 minute one is available), but even though it purports to be uncut, I knew there were some missing scenes, and this version appears to have them. I'll be watching this again tonight!

Yes. We just had a serial killer right here in the GTA that preyed upon young gay men. Did you hear about that? No! Gacy preyed on young men, gay or not. Here it is right here. Just as John Wayne Gacy volunteered part time as a clown, this sicko volunteered as a mall Santa Claus during Christmas holidays. Most of this guy's victims were immigrants from the Middle East & South Asian countries. His final victim was Caucasian & a well-known activist for the gay community (in a way, this person did his final - & most important act - for the gay community & for society as a whole). His final victim was Caucasian & a well-known activist for the gay community (in a way, this person did his final - & most important act - for the gay community & for society as a whole). Bruce McArthur The Shopping Mall Santa Turned Serial KillerThe scary part is, that many of these psychos go undetected for so long, and missing persons reports, (of which there are thousands and thousands), get swept under the rug because there are no leads for police detectives to follow through. Meanwhile, more and more bodies start to stack up. One could say the police didn't care so much about Dahmer, due to the gay aspect, but then there was the Bundy killings, in which many young female victims all fitting a certain type went missing. And these psychos can be very meticulous as possible. It does seem odd though, that all these connections that Gacy had and he ran a business, that these missing young men weren't tied to him sooner. When Paul Bernardo was preying on young women & teenage girls in the Toronto suburb of Scarborough, back in the late 80s, the police & media knew there was a serial rapist in the area. But, they never knew what he looked like, as he would always sneak up on his victims from behind & ordered them not to look at his face. He finally erred, when instead of the usual sneak up from behind, he made casual conversation with his final (surviving) victim (in Scarborough). The girl got a good look at his face, & was able to give accurate enough description for a composite sketch to be released into the media. Suddenly, he stopped attacking girls in the area, & meanwhile, police kept getting tips & collecting DNA samples from various young blond-haired men (Bernardo included). However, because the rapes had suddenly stopped, plus the murder of a little girl in Toronto had also taken up the judicial system's time, the DNA samples got stored without being checked for a few years. Meanwhile, Bernardo moved to the Niagara region to live close to his young fiancee (& accomplice), & graduated from only raping his victims, but, to actual murder, including his fiancée's kid sister (though her death was originally ruled accidental). Nobody - not the police; not the media; etc. - connected the rash of disappearances of young girls in the Niagara region to the serial rapist from Scarborough, some 95 miles away.

And these psychos can be very meticulous as possible. It does seem odd though, that all these connections that Gacy had and he ran a business, that these missing young men weren't tied to him sooner. And they can also go undetected because of their often very charismatic personalities, and glibness. I've mentioned this on the site a while back, that a fellow I worked with some years ago told me his mom had worked for Gacy during the time Gacy was managing a fast-food restaurant. According to her the employees loved him, and even though he was no longer managing the place when he was finally caught, many of his former employees refused to believe he had been guilty; some apparently still refusing to accept it after evidence of his guilt became overwhelming. When one witnesses the sort of almost hypnotic spell these types can cast on many around them, it becomes less difficult to believe that they can go for years undetected--even in some instances where they're very high-profile, cult leaders and that sort. Their abuses can stay buried under a sort of teflon personality for a very long time.

It makes no sense that qualified detectives can't make these connections. Incompetence on their part back then. There were quite a few mistakes made in capturing Bernardo. Sometimes, even detectives make foolhardy mistakes. Whether due to lack of information or sheer stubbornness. Or both. When it comes to notorious serial killers, they seem to have made a lot. Not to mention their own pig attitudes. They have to care and many are just brash, ignorant, unpleasant and prejudiced pricks. There were mistakes made in the Bruce McArthur case too. I recently watched "Four Lives" aka "The Barking Murders". Based on Stephen Porter who procured victims on Grindr. It was touching and vey sad.
