Cara Delevingne has admitted she is "not OK" as she opens up over her reported breakdown. The model made headlines last year with her dishevelled appearances in public and erratic behaviour. Cara has bravely opened up about her family's intervention after she suffered a breakdown. She told Vogue in a new interview: “It’s heartbreaking because I thought I was having fun, but at some point it was like, Okay, I don’t look well. You know, sometimes you need a reality check, so in a way those pictures were something to be grateful for.” Cara reflected on "nailing glasses of Champagne" at a family bash aged just seven. She was eventually medicated at age 10 and later self-harmed. She had a breakdown aged 15 and has been on anti-depressants in recent years. The Suicide Squad actress added: "If you have problems going into this industry, they will only get magnified and exacerbated. There is nothing about it that makes it better.” She is trying to "dig deeper" and isn't looking for a "quick fix," she added. But she credits Leah Mason, 31, her girlfriend, for giving her hope. She added: “Work is extremely important, but work is secondary because my self-work is the most important thing." Cara discussed her mental health struggles previously. “I hated myself for being depressed, I hated feeling depressed, I hated feeling,” she said. “I was very good at disassociating from emotion completely.” Last year, a close friend told The Sun: “We are all incredibly concerned. The situation has been building for a few weeks now, and Cara’s family is involved. They added: “There is talk of staging some kind of intervention and making sure Cara gets the help she may well need. She has been burning the candle at both ends of late, and it’s clearly taking its toll.”
