2/10I very much like the 1989 Pet Sematary and Part 2 from 1992. Those films really freaked me out as a kid. I hated the remake and now Bloodlines is just as bad. This is impressive on how bad this Pet Seminary prequel is. Basically its just a total bore. I was sitting there watching this whole film just clicking on the info button to see how much time was left. Its very generic and poorly written as well. Also its not remotely scary.

3/10Bunch of dumb young people fool around with a Ouija Board in the basement while their parents are having a party upstairs. They invoke a undead zombie guy whos a mix of Freddy Kruger and Tiny from House of 1000 Corpses. A very generic and basic horror film. Its bad but I seen far worse.

STRONGROOM - 1962 - Excellent nail-biter heist film in which three robbers are interrupted in their carefully planned caper and forced to lock the bank manager and his secretary in the vault. The ringleader (Derrin Nesbitt) is concerned they will run out of air and give them a murder rap so he insists the brother of his accomplice go to call the police from a distant location (so they can make their getaway). But he gets killed, and the strongroom keys end up in the morgue--and the remaining robbers have to retrieve them so they can open the vault. Meanwhile, the manager and secretary try different ways to break through or get an air supply.
The ending bothered me at first--but it actually does fit the theme of the story (taking things for granted). The filmmakers set things up for a certain conclusion between characters and then yank it away. Nevertheless, it would make a good companion film to CASH ON DEMAND since it has a similar premise but takes a different route. Recommended.

The "Camp Blood" movies. And "Camp Murder". Also "Return to Splatter Farm". I've reached my quota for Summer Camp Slashers for now.

WHO KILLED THE PROSECUTOR AND WHY? 1972 - Straightforward title to a story in which a photographer documents a political assassination made to look like an accident and with his photos, is advised by a porn producer friend to use them to make $$$. It goes into giallo territory at times with some spooky music and shadowy locations and surprise revelation.

A new ranger has personal reasons for being a bit more interested in this than most. As she begins to uncover the mystery she finds resistance, and then terror. Slow moving, with more suspense than action, but well acted, particularly by the new ranger played by Georgina Campbell(Barbarian). Kept me interested. 6/10.

Black Belly of the TarantulaVery average giallo with the usual twisting, complex plot and cast of sleazeball red herrings. It benefits from a strong, charismatic lead in Giancarlo Giannini and a sensual, ethereal Ennio Morricone score. It lacks a lot of the visual flair or creative staging of an Argento giallo (although one murder that takes place in a room full mannequins was quite eye-catching); though it has a few little touches that make it stand out. The killer's m.o.- stabbing his victims in the spine with a poisoned needle and paralyzing them before knifing them to death- is an especially vicious, perverse detail. It reminds me a little of George A. Romero's Martin. I also rather liked the look of the killer in this one. It's a little basic (fedora, black overcoat with a big popped collar) but the addition of translucent rubber gloves in place of the usual black leather is a really icky, squirm-inducing choice.

Not much to recommend this one. Lame script, poor acting, and no nudity, despite 4 reasonably attractive young women in the photographer's crew, who mostly just do a lot of screaming. They threw in some flesh eating zombies for some gore, but even that's not too impressive. 3/10.

But yeah, this one was a total slog. btw, the poster artwork looks cool.

Grizzly II: Revenge (2020)After her cub is shot by a hunter, a large mama grizzly goes on a killing spree. This means bad news for an audience attending an outdoor rock concert. This is it, the long lost in-name only sequel to the 1976 sleeper. Filmed in 1983 (in Hungary off all places!), but all the post-production work wasn't completed until 2020 due to non-stop production problems. Believe me, the wait was not worth it. Dreadful and dreadfully boring. The bear is phoney-looking and when it's not shown in point-of-view camera shots it comes across as a heavy-breathing psycho. Pretty much all of the attack sequences are not shown. Too much concert footage of terrible music. And finally there's the rushed, anticlimatic ending. It even resorted to using brief stock footage from Jaws 2; further proof that the funds were very limited for the production. You wouldn't believe some of the cast members who signed up for this. There's Deborah Raffin, Charles Cyphers, and, fresh off of Raider Of The Ark, John Rhys-Davies! But worst of all is seeing Louise Fletcher in this; how can such a respectable actress who won an Oscar for Best Actress be seen in drek like this? She should have fired her agent. We also have Charlie Sheen, Laura Dern and George Clooney, but at least they have the excuse of being young actors who were just starting their careers (remember, this is 1983). Those are the bear facts and this is an unbearable movie to watch. 2/10 Watched this one last night. Oh boy, was it bad. And boring like you mentioned. Some of the newly added scenes were terrible. That opening is understandable to set-up a motive, and connect with the original footage when the rangers find the dead bear cubs, but the execution of it (especially the CGI bullet) gave me a laugh. I could live with it, along with the nature footage. But the extra concert footage that was filmed was just lame. And talk about lame, alot of the performances fell in that bracket. It’s interesting to see quite a few recognisable faces, but it was hard not to feel embarrassed. Especially for John Rhys-Davies (his performance) & Louise Fletcher (for agreeing to be in it). And it felt like Deborah Foreman‘s character (the ranger’s daughter) could’ve been cut out completely. But I guess they had to pad out the time. Maybe would’ve been more fun had we actually seen some of the attacks, but this patchwork project was no fun. Maybe outside Rhys-Davies death (which we actually do see). In all, anticlimactic, and yep, too much music festival footage. Curious just how big this grizzly is suppose to be, as from the minor glimpses during the climax and the final shot of it crashing through the backstage. It looked massive.

SECRET NIGHT CALLER - 1975 - Robert Reed is a mild-mannered IRS accountant who won't accept bribes from desperate bar owners with white hair like Thayer David--but he will make obscene calls (though we never hear them). He goes to a shrink for help. Ultimately not a very suspenseful story (no body count) but strangely compelling for its character study of a man not named Brady.
FATAL GAMES -1984 - Cheap and often slow slasher film thanks to the novelty of the cast being decent athletes instead of actors (Teal Roberts sure can swim though). A mysterious figure in a track suit is stabbing the student body with a javelin. When the only other name of note besides Sally Kirkland is the gal who played a klingon in Star Trek V you know you are in trouble. The identity of the killer and motive is revealed when an old newspaper article is left inexplicably on the floor of a nurse's station with a picture of someone familiar and the headline: "Sex Change Operation Doesn't Work."
