The Strangers Vol 1 Tarot
Both 3/10. It was fun playing 'Guess the next trope to appear' both times though, and the ending of Tarot felt like something from Scary Movie.
Terrifier 3 and Romulus can't come quick enough!

Law Abiding Citizen (2009)A seemingly normal man seeks brutal vengeance against the two punks who murdered his wife and young daughter during a home invasion. Turns out he's also taking his revenge on the entire legal system. This is like Death Wish gone completely haywire. At first I completely sympathized with Shelton and I also admit I found it satisfying when he cleverly captured the worst of the two thugs and slowly killed him, and I'm sure many other viewers secretly felt the same way. But as the film goes along we learn that Shelton has actually been reduced to the level of Hannibal Lector/John Doe of Se7en territory, making him the true villain, and a very dangerous one. Naturally, he no longer had my sympathy. I found Law Abiding Citizen to be a very clever and captivating thriller that really packs a jolt, and the ultimate cat-and-mouse game. They way Shelton manipulates everybody and the judicial system is fascinating. Gerard Butler gives an outstanding performance as Shelton, and Jamie Foxx is also great as the prosecutor determined to stop Shelton. There are certain aspects of the script that may not come across as believable, maybe even far-fetched, but by then I was too absorbed with the story to really care about that. 7.5/10

KISS OF THE VAMPIRE - 1963 -Not the movie I planned to rewatch but I got bored with the spy movie I had picked. One of Hammer's best 60s movies though.
DR. FRANKENSTEIN ON CAMPUS - 1970 -- seen it some years back and the story stuck with me. It's not particularly well-made although gets better as it goes. The idea itself is actually pretty good but hampered by lesser acting. Still, one of the earliest Canadian SF films---beggars can't be choosers.

I've never heard of Dr. Frankenstein on Campus(only 63 ratings on Imdb) but the title alone is enough for me to put it on my "to see" list.

I Spit on Your Grave 2(2013) You know the plot: Rape-Revenge. Kind of a hard to swallow development with the 3 perps, who don't seem overly bright or wealthy, manage to kidnap and smuggle their victim from New York to Bulgaria without her knowing she was moved(drugged) . There's nudity and some pretty graphic torture scenes. In the revenge part, I'm not sure how the victim managed to pull off some of the stuff she did unless there was a supernatural element, but I'm not sure. The final scene did remind me of High Plains Drifter. 6/10.

Project Ithaca(2019) 6 people from different places and different times find themselves trapped on an Alien spaceship. Only 2 seem to have any clue as to how or why they got there. There's not much action and a lot of dialogue, but it's well acted and done well enough that I was able to suspend disbelief and enjoy the far fetched plot. It only has a 4.1 rating on IMDB, but I liked it. 7/10.

REPTILICUS 1961 - English version of the Danish monster movie which was one of the rare western-made giant lizard movies (Gorgo being another). Pretty awful in the acting and dialogue and the spfx hasn't aged well but it has some charm. The rubber lizard is often less stiff than the actors. A rare sci-fi film I would think where two blonde women are shown working in the lab to make the drug to neutralize the giant monster. I liked the nightclub song--the Danish version is more musical-I haven't seen it.

The Brides Wore Blood (1972) 4 attractive young woman are lured to a mansion to, unknown to them, end a vampiric curse. Plot sounded promising but the execution was poor, and some of the acting worse. 3/10.

Cannibal Ferox (1981) 5 not so bright Americans, 1 researching for her PHD, in the Amazon jungle run afoul of a tribe of cannibals. Gore, torture, animal abuse, nudity. Not for everyone. 4/10.

EYE IN THE LABYRINTH 1972 - Slow-moving giallo which I was going to rate lackluster --the story is about a woman who is searching for her boyfriend? psychiatrist and encounters a collection of typical giallo weirdos in an ocean side villa. After I correctly guessed someone was a transvestite, I assumed it had nothing more to offer, but then the heroine accidentally causes a guy to burn to death and the twist of the ending was enough for me to give it a C+. Not likely to rewatch though.

ZOLTAN: HOUND OF DRACULA 1977 -- Heard of this for ages--finally saw it. Surprised how well-made it is--with Jose Ferrer traveling to America to find the last of the Draculas (Michael Pataki) to warn him about a vampire dog seeking him out. The cinematography is very good for such an economical shoot, with one particular sequence where Reggie Nalder--as the creepy Dracula disciple is staring eye to eye with the dog before the latter runs off on a mission. I give them massive credit for treating it seriously until the final shot.

RAPE SQUAD 1974 - Women rape victims team up to humiliate molesters, pimps, and phone creeps with the help of a woman karate expert. It's low brow exploitation but expertly made with fiery lead performance by Jo Ann Harris. . Released 50 years ago this week.

Sounds similar to "Savage Streets". There's another one called The Ladies Club which is the same idea but more serious than this.

Also the main rapist wears a hockey mask and overalls-it's not the Jason one--but close. Some have wondered if it influenced Friday the 13th but I would think The Road Warrior was more likely to have inspired the hockey mask idea.
