Slender Man (2018) Not as terrible as the reviews would have you believe. Some genuine moments of pure creepiness. Could have done with even more of that but not a terrible movie, by any means. I wouldn’t mind seeing the uncut/complete version... but it looks like that might never happen since it looks like the production company doesn’t want anything to do with it. I do agree though. I didn’t find it to be as bad as it’s made out to be. Sure there are issues, especially studio interference, but really, in IMDb’s bottom 100?!
I so agree with you both here this is a really good creepy film .
I actually saw this one at the Drive In back in October
IMPO - An excellent eerie cool double feature for the big screen indeed .
Thanks so much Lebowskidoo and lostinlimbo for your spot on replies here too .

DeVour (2005)The build-up had me intrigued along with a likeable Jensen Ackles’ performance and my soft spot for Shannyn Sossamon, but once it revealed where it was heading and including the pay-off it sort of lost me. Some interesting ideas, although not particularly fresh, but in the end it becomes an unfulfilled mess.

THE DEVIL'S NIGHTMARE 1971 Erika Blanc can look damn creepy with her eyebrows hidden and minimal makeup.

Some interesting ideas, although not particularly fresh, but in the end it becomes an unfulfilled mess. I actually didn't mind that one lostinlimbo. It wasn't great but I found it enjoyable and I first saw it years ago when I rented it at Video Ezy and I wanted to buy it on DVD and couldn't find it anywhere and then I forgot what the name of the movie was and it wasn't until we joined Amazon in 2007 I finally got it. I used to forget the names of a lot of movies I rented from the video shop especially when they sold them but thanks to the internet that rarely happens now. We haven't watched it yet but plan on re-watching the 'Candyman' movies starting tonight.
I still kinda enjoyed it, but I think my expectations were different at the beginning. I thought i was going to see something like ‘Brainscan’ or ‘Stay Alive’, and it does play out like ‘Brainscan’ in the first half... but the latter half went away from that angle, and didn’t have me entirely gripped when we learn what was at play. Funny enough, I actually purchased the DeVour DVD from a video ezy store closing down sale last month. Love the first candyman and the following sequel is solid enough. However I can’t bring myself to watch Part 3.

The Nightcomers (1971)
Mostly well-acted (Marlo Brando, Thora Hird and especially Stephanie Beacham) and nothing subtle (well it is Michael Winner directing) about this psychosexual period drama that plays as a prequel to Henry James classic "Turn of the Screw".

Sole Survivor (1983)
Other than some scratchy performances you get a nicely eerie, and deliberately slow-burn low-budget supernatural horror film. Would make a good double screening alongside David Hemming’s adaptation of The Survivor 1981.

Insidious (2010/11) - 8/10 (rewatch) Still a very atmospheric and well-made film. I understand the criticism about it being too much like Poltergeist, but I viewed it as a throwback/homage. Best of the series.

I think I still own the VHS of this film. I remember seeing a VHS copy with a cover that sort of rips off ‘Fright Night’.
