The Dead Pit (1989) 7/10 Crazy, senseless zombie mixed mad doctor formula set in an mental institution with some over-the-top gore and atmospheric blue filtered lighting. The lead actress spends most of time freaking out, or wandering the corridors in her underwear. Trashy low-budget horror fun.

Currently smack-dab in the middle of a Tremors-a-thon. Saw the original back when it first came out but never bothered with the sequels till now. Watched them all except Tremors 5: Bloodlines, which I will be seeing tonight after work. I also bought the TV show, who knew there had also been a TV show? Not me. I should get to that right away too. Heard they're already making a Tremors 6, how far will they go?

American Nightmare (1983) Pretty decent Canadian thriller that very much so feels like a giallo. I really wasn't all too familiar with any of the cast, except for Michael Ironside, who is always terrific. I'd really love to see this get remastered for blu-ray. Thanks so much schizkebab for this movie recommendation . Surprisingly I have never heard of or seen this film ( from the Wikipedia profile page it seems a bit intriguing too ) . I also really like Canadian films from the 1980's too ( awesome movie poster for this one too ! ) .

"A Nightmare on Elm Street" (2010)
I decided to give this one another chance. Still not very good. It's an appreciably sombre horror film, save for some of Freddy's quips. But the cast is largely uninspired. Jackie Earle Haley is actually okay, but he'll never make anybody forget Robert Englund. Somewhat drab looking, although it's not completely lacking in decent visuals. Overall, these filmmakers just don't have as much fun, or are as creative, with the whole notion of nightmares, as Wes Craven.

Ghosts of Mars (2001) Well, that a mess, and very likely the worst film I have seen released/directed by John Carpenter. The plot is a bit of Assault on Precinct 13th set on Mars, the people in it are all very unlikeable, no charm, no chemistry just a bunch of smug and very annoying figures, and the terrible attempts on brining in a bit of fun and comedy, does not work, ever. Pam Grier is completely wasted here, while Ice Cube has no screen personality at all, just the same stupid/silly little childish (do I look scary/bad ass now?) look on his face, all the time. The bad guys are bunch of clowns, not scary or menacing, just laughable bad. There is not suspense, and the scare factor is beyond cheap, and it is hard to knowledge that this piece of turd is the work of the very same man that once released some of the very best horror/action films during the 70s/80s. The only thing keeps me interested is the stunning Natasha Henstridge in the main role, and that the film does not become boring or slowpaced. 3/10

I had plans of watching The Fog (2005) later on, but after seeing Ghost of Mars, one big pile of turd was more than enough for one day and even though The Fog might come off as a "better" or more enjoyable adventure, I felt that I had to take a break.

For me right now today the film MIRRORS 2008 . IMPO - This film was just OK the storyline was a bit interesting and although I'm not a big fan of actor Kiefer Sutherlandhe still did a good job with this one . I actually prefer this films sequel Mirrors 2 2010 and watch this one first back to back with the original Mirrors film ( but just not today ) .

That's the one. I don't like rats especially king sized ones. That's a phobia of mine. I was able to watch empire of the ants. But rats is just too much. I almost had a heart attack. That's not a fun movie! By the way how've you been? We've been rollin in different circles on different parts of the board lately

That's not a fun movie! By the way how've you been? We've been rollin in different circles on different parts of the board lately I can understand your fear / phobia of very large rats of that particular size ( and if they really did get that big we would all be in real trouble ) . Thankfully pet / domestic rats do not get that big also they are usually harmless , friendly , and are clean health-wise ( meaning not carrying any diseases ) . On the other hand - I would never touch a wild rat because those tend to be a bit more aggressive in nature and could pose a real danger to your health ( could very possibly carry diseases from their unclean environments like the sewers ? ) . Well now that the rodent lesson is over with here . As for me I have been a bit busy on the homefront and wasn't on the boards a whole lot just here and there at certain times but not really constant the weeks before that . I go through this sometimes when I don't have much to say online either - but I believe I'm back for now . Thanks so much for your concern on asking me about this - I really appreciate it too . I really hope you are well and enjoying these excellent boards too . I'm actually looking forward to the Twilight Zone July 4th Marathon on SyFy very soon too ( it's my twice a year fun little tradition since I signed up on the old IMDB 8 years ago ) . I posted the announcement for it on our newest TZ SubBoard there too . As for this subject post - I'm currently watching ( and it just started up now ) The Hills Have Eyes 1977 .

Rosemary's Baby remake. It was good but not as good as the original. Actually the original " Rosemary's Baby 1968 " is about to start in a couple of minutes on THE MOVIE CHANNEL if you are interested sagenesse . Thankfully I never saw or heard of the remake either . IMPO - nothing can replace the 1968 original .

"The Thing" (1982)
I watched this sci-fi / horror classic last night to commemorate the films' 35th anniversary. Still quite potent, an interesting mix of paranoia, isolation, special effects showcase, atmosphere, and very fine ensemble acting.
