Tried giving Rob Zombie’s The Devil’s Rejects another go, and it just doesn’t gel for me. I do like House of a 1000 Corpsesand it’s maniac energy, yet I find Zombie’s follow up to meander, and only have me engaged when Sid Haig is on screen. It was a lot more drawn out, and not as expansive like it remembered it being. Sort of dumbfounds me there’s a third film with the amount bullets that rains down upon them at the end, but I might check out Three From Hell eventually.

It was time for my annual December viewing of Black Christmas (1974). And of course it floored me again and gave me a good supply of goosebumps, as usual.

I so agree here Dramatic Look Gopher and watch this one around
the same time in this season also .
It seems no matter how old this film is
it still holds up very well
after all these years
and it gets better with age
every time I watch it too .
A definite awesome classic horror film indeed .

‘Dead Air’ is a TV movie directed by Fred Walton (April Fool’s Day & When a Stranger Calls). Neo-Noir shades & story twists follow a radio disc jockey who becomes the infatuation of an unknown caller. A little marbled, but watchable mystery-thriller. It’s on YouTube.

I actually have never watched the remakes of this fine original film .
However I did see a commercial for the most recent newer one
and it appeared to not impress me to even want to view it
especially knowing how well the original holds up
after all these years too .
IMPO - A quality film such as this one just cannot be duplicated
it's definitely a " one of a kind classic gem " .

Contamination .7 aka The Crawlers aka The Creepers aka Troll 3 (1993)
Wherein most of the actors seem to be taking their cues from Ryan O'Neal and his flat "Oh, man, oh, God" line reading from Tough Guys Don't Dance.

I watched the Tales From the Crypt episode "And All Through the House." I know, it's not a movie but who cares. Been wanting to see this for 30 years. Anyway, how does it compare to the 1972 version with Joan Collins? Not good I'm afraid. Larry Drake is impressively creepy-looking and Mary Ellen Trainor is convincing as the homicidal wife--but the trouble is, she is TOO convincing. She is able to knock the mad Santa unconscious. In the original, the Santa maniac is a big fucking dude and looks like a mental case. The surprise ending just works much better. They go for comedy in this--too much to be scary the way I like it.

A solid remake by Tom Savini with a few a plot changes here and there. The practical effects still hold up strong.

Mrs. Claus (2018) Mrs. Claus has murder on her mind this Christmas, and she's out to get whoever is naughty or nice! Very low budget with some questionable acting, but it delivers the goods. If you're a fan of gore and throat slittings, then this is the holiday movie for you!

Don't think I've ever seen that before. I definitely stand behind the NOTLD remake. I liked the twists on the familiar plot, especially the choice to make Barbra more than a catatonic liability. Not a perfect film by any stretch, but a lot to chew on with the great cast and superb special effects work.
