AdminAt the moment, though being read-only, the politics board is visible for guests. (That wasn't always the case...) Please let it stay at least that way as I often reference certain threads to people outside as an information box of good sources for certain topics and what I've done the last years in general! I'm pretty sure Xeliou66 only got into it on the politics board, never on the sports board, so if it's read only, he'd be just fine here. |

Hello all... If you've been following the recent events of this forum, you know that I stepped down and handed the reins to someone else who eventually deleted it without warning on April 1st. To those who know who it was, please don't resent them. I won't go into details about this, but I will say that I don't blame them and neither should anyone else. I take full responsibility for it, and all I can offer in this regard is an apology and a promise to never let it happen again. Trolls and troublemakers not only make forums unpleasant for the rest, they also make their survival much more difficult than it needs to be. Proboards' unprecedented decision to revive V2 after its sudden deletion was based on my desire for it continue, as stated in many of my posts over the years. While I appreciate them for that, I can't say I was very pleased with their attempt to appoint moderators via public application. Some of the worst of the worst applied, most of which have been trying to get backstage since day one for all the wrong reasons. So I thought it best to just take it back, if only to keep them out. The personal privacy of IMDB2 members has always been a top priority for me and always will be. Even my haters understand this. I don't have as much time for this forum as I did six years ago when I created it, so instead of just resetting and picking up where we left off, I've decided to rid V2 of the ones who have repeatedly proven themselves over the years to be completely uninterested in — or adamantly opposed to — respect and civility, as well as a few who have recently threatened to return after reopening for the sole purpose of causing even more problems. This will no doubt reduce the traffic here, possibly even completely, but IMHO, even a dead forum is better than a forum full of trolls, rumormongers, and shitposters. Everything should now be restored to the state it was in prior to its closure on April 1st. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. If there are any questions, please post them in this thread and I'll do my best to address them with a caveat that I will not throw anyone under the bus or speak ill of the banned, nor will I discuss any individual ban. Just know that while IMDB2 is no longer here for the troublemakers, it will always be here for everyone else. -John Thank you John!! At first I thought the deletion was an April Fools joke because April 1st and then a day or two later I thought the board was gone for good. I'm glad it's back.

I'm sure most of us completely understand why you wanted to take a break. I'm not surprised the person who took over from you was overwhelmed; babysitting over trolls and vexatious posters is too much.

There's only maybe 3 people on the NBA thread on the Sports board, and the other main poster has me on ignore.  |
