Let’s hear it for the woman behind Disney Star Wars 🤙 I’m not the biggest fan of hers. And these are the reasons why: Reason #1:Her handling of Luke Skywalker. There were 5 contributing writers on Luke Skywalker’s character in the sequel trilogy. George Lucas. His writing ideas for the scripts of the trilogy films were rejected after a meeting with Kennedy before production started. His ideas had Luke being an active protagonist and mentor in hiding. Michael Arndt. He was the original writer of The Force Awakens. He never finished the script because he was ordered (by Kathleen Kennedy) to do multiple rewrites, each time scaling back Luke’s screen time and involvement in the plot and action. JJ Abrams. He completed the writing for TFA, totally removing Luke from the story (save for that now infamous cameo at the end). He left a few conceptual ideas for Luke’s character in episode 8. They were tossed out because they made Luke too active of a Force user in the story. Collin Trevorrow. He was the original writer for episode 9. He made some writing treatments and discussed ideas about where Luke’s character would be coming from in episode 8. His script for episode 9 made Luke a more active character (not just a cameo) and a mentor. All of this was rejected and tossed out by Kathleen Kennedy. Rian Johnson. He wrote Luke to be a defeated hermit mostly impotent in the Force. And he would not be a mentor, save for one cynical and useless lesson in Force meditation. Obviously Kennedy’s influence over how Luke was written was very deliberate. And in the end it was very divisive for fans and audiences. Sadly most of it was unnecessary. And had the character been written better under different writers it would’ve probably gotten them even more profit at the box office. Reason #2: Kathleen’s handling of Star Wars video games. She shut down LuasArts (the main video games maker for SW video games). They already a successful record and a good production pace. She sold the rights to EA games. And they had no experience in that video games genre. This delayed production of any video games for several years. After making remakes of old SW games with mixed results from fans, it would be over 4 years since the decision before they made their first successful original Star Wars video game. What a waste at potential profit and fan satisfaction. Reason #3: Solo: A Star Wars Story. Kathleen Kennedy continues to put blame for this movie failure on anything and anyone but herself. Her given reasons have ranged from replacing the original actor was not accepted by fans to Internet trolls hurt it’s reputation amongst other reasons. But the real reason the film bombed was (1) it was released to soon after the most divisive movie of the franchise and (2) she had to remake 70% to 80% of the movie because the original filmmakers she chose to make Han a comic relief character and give the film a Disney channel vibe, she realized would probably cause another divisive movie right on the back of the divisive The Last Jedi. That drove production costs way up and hurt the quality of the story in finished product.

Gee, I wonder why? I also wonder just WTF this woman did working on Tiny Toons in the 90s, exactly WTF is a 'production executive'?

So many fans point the finger at her for all the current franchise bad decisions. Her most recent genius move was bringing Rey back.

She is not making the decisions. And Luke was made a goof by Lucas.
Star Wars always had a liberal progressive message.
Lobot was not a Yul Brynner homage.
