When did you abandon them, and which ones do you plan on picking up again at some point/give it another go? Mine: Fringe: When I stopped: Pretty early, maybe late season 1
Reason for stopping: Far too episodic. And there were much better things on at the time
Intend to return to it?: Yes. I hear it gets much more serialized later on
Supernatural: When I stopped: Maybe mid season 4 or so Reason for stopping: It was getting very stupid Intend to return to it?: No. Not interested whatsoever
Modern Family:When I stopped: Very early on, maybe during season 2 Reason for stopping: I guess because there were so many other great shows on at the time, especially dramas which I prefer, that I guess I lost interest or maybe just didn't have time for it. It was a fine show I guess but certainly not must-watch TV Intend to return to it?: Yes Mr Robot: When I stopped: I think after completing season 2 Reason for stopping: Because it was pretentious, edgy trash pretending to be prestige TV Intend to return to it?: No. Not interested whatsoever
The Vampire Diaries: When I stopped: After completing season 5
Reason for stopping: I didn't really. I was just intending to take a break from it as it was getting very depressing and pretty stupid, but it's been over a year now since I stopped
Intend to return to it?: Yes Louie: When I stopped: I think after completing season 1 Reason for stopping: I didn't really understand the point of the show. It wasn't funny enough to be a comedy nor dramatic enough to be a good drama. It was also very weird at times
Intend to return to it?: Not sure. It did have some good moments so maybe I'll give it another go at some point
The Boys: When I stopped: After the first episode
Reason for stopping: Was not in the mood to continue it. Also got big edgelord vibes from it
Intend to return to it?: Yes. I know I stopped early and am very willing to give it another go

Remembered some more. Criminal Minds:When I stopped: During one of the first few seasons Reason for stopping: Pretty much because it was episodic, and was airing during the golden age when there were so many better (and serialized) things to watch Intend to return to it?: No. Although I can see myself maybe watching the Frankie Muniz episode which I had heard about, and maybe Jennifer Love Hewitt's episodes as I am a fan of both Person of Interest:When I stopped: Partway through season 1 Reason for stopping: Because it lied (wasn't Interesting) Intend to return to it?: Maybe. I have a friend who really liked it. Maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance
Star Wars: The Clone Wars When I stopped: Not sure, maybe after season 2 or 3 Reason for stopping: Not sure. I'm a big Star Wars fan but I guess because I'm not really into cartoons, plus there was just so many live action dramas to watch at the time
Intend to return to it?: Yes. And looking forward to it. It may be the last George Lucas approved Star Wars media we will ever have

The Walking Dead: When I stopped: after season 7 Reason for stopping: I was tired of the formula of the show and heard I wasn't missing much Intend to return to it?: Maybe. There's only a few seasons left now that it's officially over
Westworld: When I stopped: the premiere of season 4 Reason for stopping: the show hadn't been good since s1, and not only was it cancelled, it was pulled from the HBO app entirely Intended to return to it?: maybe if it goes back to HBO
The Office: When I stopped: also after season 7 Reason for stopping: the show started going downhill even before Steve Carrell left, but after it became unwatchable Intended to return to it?: no
That 70s Show: When I stopped: the last season Reason for stopping: no Topher Grace or Ashton Kutcher, the introduction of Randy Intended to return to it?: no
That 90s Show: When I stopped: middle of season 1 Reason for stopping: don't care for the new characters or humor Intended to return to it?: if I hear good things going forward
Deadwood: When I stopped: sometime in season 2 Reason for stopping: I don't get the appeal. Characters are so-so, and whoop de doo, they say naughty words. Intended to return to it?: yes
South Park: When I stopped: after season 11 Reason for stopping: it got too political and unfunny Intended to return to it?: I do still watch the occasional episode, but I don't think I can complete it

Hawaii Five 0 (2010 - 2020):When I stopped: About halfway way through Season 2 Reason for stopping: Season 2 failed to take advantage of the great Season 1 cliffhanger, and watching the show started to feel like a chore. Intend to return to it?: No. According to Mr. Mike’s Episode Ratings, the first two seasons were the best.

Nashville. Right after the episode with Rayna Jaymes' funeral. Why, because they killed her off. Intend to return? Hell no.

Person of Interest:When I stopped: Partway through season 1 Reason for stopping: Because it lied (wasn't Interesting) Intend to return to it?: Maybe. I have a friend who really liked it. Maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance. I really liked it too. I own all five seasons on DVD. I think you didn't give it enough of a chance. You complained that "Fringe" was too episodic, and that you hear it gets much more serialized later on. I can't comment on "Fringe", but I can tell you POI definitely gets much more serialized later on.

Game of Thrones: Stopped before the end of S6 because the writing had become nonsensical and purely emotionally driven. Followed discussions on the remaining seasons but never watched them. Watched the series finale to see what the author of the books had in store and decided not to bother reading his junk any further. Vikings: Watched the 1st season and left it for years because it felt shallow. Picked it up again for fun in spite of absent realism and cringed my way through the dumb soap that S3 had turned into. The Bastard Executioner: Dropped off mid season because of focus on voyeuristic violence. Westworld: Dropped off before the end of the 1st season as inner logic started to break its own rules (Ep. 7 was the major offender). Did watch S2 out of curiosity and found it to be a nonsensical mess. The Last Kingdom: Dropped off by S2 Ep.3 because of fast pacing and too easy resolutions. Not engaging enough. Finished the season years later. I really liked the first one but it turned into a repetitive formula. I did end up watching the whole series, sadly writing quality consistently drops with every season and Netflix really took it way down in the last two. The Hollow Crown: Enjoyed the first two plays but Shakespeare takes some getting used to. I might take it up again. Rome: Watched half the 1st season and never went further because it's so good, I don't want it to end. Romulus (on Sky): same thing. This may be the series I like most of all. Britannia: Made my way through half the first season and will continue one day. I quite enjoy it. Don't know why I stopped. The Crown: Stopped after one season. It was very good but I don't find the subject all too engaging. Stranger Things: It was fun for a while. I managed to watch the first three seasons. It got real goofy, which is not bad. I might continue. Barbarians: Had trouble getting through the first season. Cringy "savage good, civilised world bad, women kick men's arse" leftist tripe. I hear the 2nd season is far worse.

The Simpsons: Abandoned gradually 15-20 years ago as the show grew long in the tooth.
South Park: Stopped watching in 2016. The show was long past its prime by then, and then when everything became about the election, I totally lost interest.
The Walking Dead: Stopped after Season 8. It was just...an awful season. It broke me.
Real Time: I lost interest when Bill Maher started leaning into the "anti-woke" stuff. He'd been flirting with anti-vaxxerism and general medical quackery for years, so I should've realized where he was headed.
Roseanne: Lost interest during the last couple of seasons if its original run, though I did watch the series finale. I only saw the premier episode of the reboot. I didn't think it was very good, and Roseanne turning into a Trumper really turned me off.

The Walking Dead: I stopped with 5 minutes to go at 4x01, it was more of the same and I was bored and just done with it.
Fear the Walking Dead: Stopped at the beginning of season 4, it became the Morgan show and was nothing like the previous seasons.
House of the Dragon: Stopped at episode 4, its just not very interesting and the cheap wigs made it look like I was watching a crap cosplay event.
Mr. Robot: stopped at 1x02, it was just Dexter with a hacker, but less interesting.
Dexter: stopped during season 8, it just got really dumb
Fringe: halfway season 1, every episode was the same. Murder, dude has weird theory, chick looks confused, dude son explains, chick goes after bad guy with gun.

Outlander (2014-)When I stopped: End of Season 1 Reason for stopping: It Tries too hard to resemble GoT but ends up being a soap opera (with lots of sex!) Intend to return to it?: No, sitting through one season felt like I've wasted an eternity doing something I dont enjoy. Two and a Half Men (2003-2015)When I stopped: 2-3 episodes into Season 9 Reason for stopping: The show just didn't feel right after Charlie Sheen's departure. Intend to return to it?: No Westworld (2016-2022)When I stopped: End of Season 1 Reason for stopping: The world-building is so immersive and cool...but there's not much going on in between episodes. Intend to return to it?: Maybe, someday. I've got a lot on my plate rn. Gossip Girl (2007–2012)When I stopped: End of Season 1 Reason for stopping: Unnecessary teen melodrama/shenanigans of the privileged upper class folk Intend to return to it?: No The Magicians (2015–2020)When I stopped: Episode 1 of Season 1 Reason for stopping: Just another 'coming-of-age' show with annoying teens doing drugs/meaningless sex - but with magic! Intend to return to it?: No Preacher (2016–2019)When I stopped: Midway through Season 1 Reason for stopping: Painfully slow pacing / lack of substance Intend to return to it?: No Stranger Things (2016-2024)When I stopped: End of Season 1 Reason for stopping: A poor man's It with annoying leads and a pretentious 'nostalgia' element, I get that it's fans are crazy about it but it's just not for me Intend to return to it?: No

Too many:
The Walking Dead When I stopped: During season 5 after they dealt with the cannibals Reason for stopping: Got tired of having between 1 and 2 good episodes per season Intend to return to it? No
Mr. Robot When I stopped: The Alf episode during season 2 Reason for stopping: I never liked the Fight Club twist at the end of season 1. I watched a few more episode during season 2 and I stopped caring Intend to return to it? No
Deadwood: When I stopped: After the Season 2 Finale Reason for stopping: This was before HBO Max so I was watching this show through DVDs. I never managed to get a hold of the season 3 DVD and stopped there. Intend to return to it? Yes
The Last Kingdom When I stopped: After Season 2 Reason for stopping: I was never a fan of adapting two books per season and I stopped after season 2. Intend to return to it? Maybe but only after finishing reading the books
Vikings When I stopped: During season 3 Reason for stopping: I simply lost interest. Intend to return to it? I did gave it another go and started from the beginning. Couldn't finish season 2 so probably no.
Boardwalk Empire When I stopped: Season 3, episode 1 Reason for stopping: Too many tv shows at the time and this one was one of those that got left behind. Never picked it up again Intend to return to it? Yes
There are others like True Blood and sitcoms like The Big Bang Theory and That 70's show that I'll probably never watch again.

You really should IMO. One of the best shows currently airing and so far, three strong seasons.

The Last Kingdom When I stopped: After Season 2 Reason for stopping: I was never a fan of adapting two books per season and I stopped after season 2. Intend to return to it? Maybe but only after finishing reading the books 4 episodes per book was just too fast a pace for proper immersion. Things just started and ended right away without leaving one time to wonder what will happen next. This is also when the formula really became predictable: the hero is kept outside in the doghouse because he doesn't smell right, turns up to save the house and gets patted on the back until the smell starts being noticed again. This scheme keeps repeating and viewers may hope the dog will finally break loose and rejoin the Danish wolves outside but the whole premise of the story is that he wants to be a Saxon lord… I doubt the show is worth anything after reading the books. Certainly not past S3. The last two seasons were written by Netflix for their audience of morons. Vikings When I stopped: During season 3 Reason for stopping: I simply lost interest. Intend to return to it? I did gave it another go and started from the beginning. Couldn't finish season 2 so probably no. Season 2 starts with the most ridiculous sequence ever: the war stops because one man cannot bear to fight his brother then all start talking and agree to go raid together instead. Later on, the hero causes disturbance by burning the food storage of his own village and his people welcome him as a liberator for it. Another show written for idiots.

Stranger Things... I stopped after season 3. Just lost interest. I've watched some clips of Vecna. But I just stopped caring.
The Boys... I dunno I just lost interest. It really takes me alot to invest in a show as I tend to lose interest fast.
The only shows I still watch are "Law & Order", "SVU", "American Dad", "Family Guy", and "American Crime Story" "American Horror Story", "Twilight Zone", "Thriller (British)", "I dream of Jeanie", "Midsomer murders", "Tales of the unexpected", I could watch those over and over.

ROME - gave up on it after first 3 episodes. Didn't find the actors compelling enough and I, Claudius was looming large in my mind.
Star Trek: Enterprise - ditto.

Star Trek: Enterprise - ditto. (Didn't find the actors compelling enough.) IMO, Star Trek: Enterprise was OK for its first two seasons. It got good in its third season. Then it got really good in its fourth season - an episode that's a prequel to "Mirror, Mirror" and a sequel to "The Tholian Web", count me in! Sadly, it then got cancelled just as it hit its stride. The Star Trek series that I abandoned was: Star Trek Voyager:When I stopped: Early in Season 1 Reason for stopping: At first I didn't much care for the characters, apart from Tuvok. And with the action confined to one Federation ship in the distant Delta Quadrant, the stakes felt small, and the events far less interesting than what was happening on Deep Space Nine. Intend to return to it?: Maybe. I cared enough to come back for the series finale, and watched a few more episodes along the way.

Chicago PD. After Alvin Olinsky was killed the show went on life support, and Voight and Trudy just aren't enough to carry it anymore.
Law and Order: Organized Crime. We got through the first two seasons but one it's just so far out there compared to the other series' in the franchise and two it's just too big of a mess to spend an entire season chasing after ONE perp who always gets away until the very end.

They could have done more with the Maquis crew maybe--and I liked the Doctor--the best Spock "clone" after Odo.
