Has anyone noticed this? Can you name a single bald actor who is under 50?
I feel like there hasn't been a young bald actor in decades. All the ones that we have now have already been around for decades. The ones off the top of my head: Bruce Willis, Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Terry O'Quinn, Michael Chiklis, John Travolta. They've all been around for a long time.
Clearly the decided at some point to stop hiring young bald actors. This is blatant discrimination and I can't believe no one has called out on it yet.
Thoughts?

With a few exceptions, when was baldness ever a common thing for actors under 50?

With a few exceptions, when was baldness ever a common thing for actors under 50? So Hollywood has always been baldist, therefore it's okay to still be baldist now? That's what you're saying? Seriously?

I think you see a lot fewer average-looking people making a success of acting all across the board, to be honest.

What do you want actors to do ? Shave their heads? What on earth are you talking about?
I am saying that Hollywood is clearly not casting young bald men any more. Baldness is a hair loss condition that is not by choice.
It has absolutely nothing to do with people who shave their head by choice, whether it be for a role or a fashion statement.

I think you see a lot fewer average-looking people making a success of acting all across the board, to be honest. No one said anything about anyone being average looking. This is about baldness, which is unrelated to how attractive someone is.

Or have hair pieces only gotten better?

Or have hair pieces only gotten better? They have, and I'm sure many actors are using them. You can look up the ones that are suspected of using them, it's a lot. At least a few of them have come out and admitted to using them, such as Jon Cryer and John Travolta off the top of my head.
So yeah I'm sure if you're a young bald actor you'd probably want to get one to give you more casting options. But the ones who don't want to wear one for whatever reason, why aren't they being casted at all?
It used to be done. Jason Alexander was late 20s when he was casted in Seinfeld, as was Michael Chiklis for The Commish.

I think it's more a matter of younger bald actors getting hair plugs or some such thing to cover their baldness.

Corey Stoll is only 47 years old and has been acting bald professionally since 2001.
