I'm the other way around when it comes to the prequels. I don't remember Jake Lloyd being so bad, but I definitely remember him being a child. I've always thought it was kind of a miracle when a young child actor pulls off anything. Maybe you're onto something about Hayden Christensen though. He's always been my least favourite thing about the prequels, even Revenge of the Sith, which I've always felt was the best of the prequels even though my preference is The Phantom Menace because it's the only one without Hayden Cristensen.
If Adam Driver were Hayden Christensen's age at the time he could have played a decent pre-Vader Anakin Skywalker. I like Hayden Christensen but to this day I don't look at him and see Darth Vader.
I agree, but he also isn't Darth Vader yet. My main problem is I never imagined Darth Vader was a pretty boy when he was younger. As I pointed out I do think Christensen is definitely lacking, but he does it well enough for me to just go with it. I don't think he is terrible like many people do. I am actually not a fan of Hayden Christensen even outside of Star Wars, though I haven't seen Shattered Glass. Jake Lloyd on the other hand is difficult for me to watch. I don't blame him, I blame George Lucas for casting a child who can't act. I wouldn't call myself a fan either, really. I liked him enough in Life as a House. I think my problem at the time was he just seemed so similar in Star Wars. Damn near the same sniveling teenager but with powers, and in Life as a House at least it made some sense.
Jake Lloyd on the other hand I've heard had enormous stress after Star Wars. Teasing, bullying, depression. Really quite sad. Not that I'm angry about it, but if I had to blame someone I'd blame George Lucas as well.

Considering I don't remember his acting in Life as a House, I can't speak to that. I watched the movie once in 2001. On the other hand I have seen the prequels a handful of times and most recently a few years ago.

I disagree that they "suck". I like both. Rise of Skywalker is better, IMO, but there's still a lot I like about Last Jedi.

I don’t think TLJ is anything special, but I don’t see how it can be considered worse TRoS.

I don`t think either of them are awful movies, i think they are both mediocre movies. Also i think its a problem that people today when it comes to rating movies either go, its the worst thing ever or its the greatest thing ever, there is rarely a middle ground.
If i have to pick one, than i pick Rise of Skywalker.

Maybe less so on here, but it does feel like that is the reaction to a lot of movies online (on youtube for example). They're either the greatest thing ever or some abomination, which I find annoying because the vast majority of movies fall somewhere in between.

Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher are pretty, so it makes sense the guy playing their dad would be pretty. Hayden was in a tough spot with the writing, though. There's an interview where someone asks Benedict Cumberbatch to deliver the sand monologue, and he's just like "what is this? How can anyone say these lines?"

As I’ve often told folks, TLJ is a bad movie, but ROS doesn’t even qualify as a movie. TLJ is worse in execution than in-concept. Rian Johnson approached the story with something to say, but he did so with a lack of care or regard for what came before. There are ways to deconstruct the character of Luke Skywalker without rendering his previous characterization moot. ROS on the other hand had absolutely nothing to say. If feels like it was made by a bunch of suits in a boardroom who’ve read a summary of what fans talk about regarding the original trilogy and based the screenplay on that. By virtue of TLJ actually qualifying as a movie, (and having something that resembles a story), I voted for that.

Wasn't impressed with either of the movies though I thought I'm pleased with how the Skywalker saga concluded. Visually, I prefer the watery setting of Kef Bir in Episode IX which really sets the mood for an epic scene.

Double Toasted is a blast. I found these guys about a month ago. Neat, I'll give it the old college Google.
The only one I like is Deep Focus Lens. My viewing of Youtube reviewers is very few and far between, even with the one I like, but I like how deep she goes and the balance she strikes with analysis and feelings.
