Earth, 2023 - the winds of change are blowing our reality in a new direction, demarcating the past from a very different present. Tom Brady haunts the field of play no more and Barbenheimer has blown up the box office in a bombastic blend of worlds that, it seemed, couldn’t be farther apart. Speaking of which, we on this board had our own little atomic scare earlier this year - and it seemed for a short moment that our years of posts would be lost… like tears… in rain. Quick as a flash, we washed up on the shores of a brave new forum - only for many of us to find our way back home. What’s more, we can even poke our heads over there from time to time, should we wish to.
After all, life is full of choice now. Why choose between IMDB1 and IMDB2? Why choose between a life as the greatest quarterback in history and a life as the part-owner of Birmingham City FC? Why choose between pink, blonde, Ken-enough getups and nuclear nightmares when you can have both? You can have all. That’s the way of our new world. Well, except in one key place.
For the rules of Pick ‘Em remain the same even in our sixth year of operations: you can choose only one or the other (or a tie). There is no both. There is no all. There’s only one.
Our tiny board has grown smaller still, but the all-compassing force that rules our Sundays rolls inevitably onwards. What do we humble IMDB posters have in common with these megaton NFL franchises? Before Week One, we all believe we could have a bright season. In truth, the central premise of Pick ‘Em holds firm: only one of our names will live on in the fame of 2023 glory. Will it be yours?
Hall of Champions
2018 - Regular season (NJtoTX); playoffs (King Kong Brady) 2019 - Regular season (NJtoTX); playoffs (millar70*) 2020 - Regular season (RocketMan); playoffs (bluerisk) 2021 - Regular season (NJtoTX); playoffs (Xcalatë) 2022 - Regular season (tristramshandy); playoffs (RocketMan)
2023 - Week 1
All posters get two weeks of insurance for missed picks, receiving the same points as a given's week's lowest scorer.
Rules: simply pick the winner of each game listed. No score required (though a little added commentary on your picks won't be discouraged). The first game of the week is usually Thursday Night Football. If you miss this game, you can still pick for Saturday/Sunday/Monday games; however in all cases you must make your picks before kickoff for picks to be valid.
If I've 'liked' your post, consider your picks logged and recorded. So if you want to change them, best tell me in another post.

Ahh, yes... the week 1 of the NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE... where 2380 hours of Good Morning Football since the Super Bowl will prove they know really not much about the product they're each waking up at 2am to be in a makeup chair at 4am to talk on whiteboards about which QB2 probably catches the most fish if they hypothetically went camping...
Detroit @ Kansas City
Carolina @ Atlanta Houston @ Baltimore Cincinnati @ Cleveland Jacksonville @ Indianapolis Tampa Bay @ Minnesota Tennessee @ New Orleans San Francisco @ Pittsburgh Arizona @ Washington Green Bay @ Chicago Las Vegas @ Denver Miami @ LA Chargers Philadelphia @ New England LA Rams @ Seattle Dallas @ NY Giants
Buffalo @ NY Jets
Wow... some juicy upsets I wouldn't be shocked by the least (which I didn't pick btw) - Lions, Steelers, Raiders, & even a Bucs steal to destroy the Kirk Cousins era wouldn't fully shock me.

4:25pm Green Bay @ Chicago: Chicago Las Vegas @ Denver: Denver Miami @ LA Chargers: LA Philadelphia @ New England: Philadelphia LA Rams @ Seattle: Seattle
8:20pm Dallas @ NY Giants: Giants

I'm just flinging shit at the wall for the first few weeks with the exception of the Giants and Jets who I always pick. Looking forward to seeing if the Giants and Jets can finish with an equal or better record, or do they stink out the joint and fall into the basement in another failed experiment?
I'm looking for the Chiefs to pick up right where they left off and knock off Detroit in a leisurely game. I don't expect Houston to right the ship from last year just like that so I took Baltimore. Bengals over the Browns because the Browns will Brown. The rest of the games? Just wild guesses until I see how they are going to do when it counts.

Detroit @ Kansas City - Lions may have been a little overhyped; not good enough to beat the reigning champion CHIEFS.
Carolina @ Atlanta - I think the FALCONS offense looks good out of the gate.
Houston @ Baltimore - RAVENS too good to lose to the Texans at this stage of their development.
Cincinnati @ Cleveland - I'll go with the BROWNS to stun Cincy.
Jacksonville @ Indianapolis - it's going to be an interesting year watching Anthony Richardson in Steichen's offense, but I'd be (happily) surprised if the Colts beat the JAGUARS here.
Tampa Bay @ Minnesota - Baker won one of the least-interesting QB battles in recent memory, but the Bucs won't win in Minneosta. VIKINGS.
Tennessee @ New Orleans - Carr will look good early on, enough to lead the SAINTS to victory.
San Francisco @ Pittsburgh - going with another surprise as the STEELERS defense smothers Purdy and Pickett looks like he's taken a leap.
Arizona @ Washington - who's at QB for the Cards again? They suck, COMMANDERS win.
Green Bay @ Chicago - not confident about this one but I'll go with the BEARS as Chicago celebrates Rodgers being gone.
Las Vegas @ Denver - Raiders look pretty crappy but the Broncos have no receivers. I guess I'll take the BRONCOS anyway at home.
Miami @ LA Chargers - DOLPHINS will be really good this year and get a big win on the road.
Philadelphia @ New England - any progress for the Pats hinges on how Mac looks; I'm not convinced he'll be good enough. EAGLES.
LA Rams @ Seattle - most people seem pretty down on the RAMS but I'll pick them to upset Seattle.
Dallas @ NY Giants - COWBOYS are better on paper. I'm sure the refs won't escape blame.
Buffalo @ NY Jets - BILLS are the class of the division until proven otherwise.

My son and I will be there and yes, if Dallas wins, the refs will be blamed. In fact, if Dallas scores, the refs will be blamed. Dallas has owned them in recent years. Everybody keeps talking about the Giants offense improving, but it's their defense that is gonna be tough to deal with. Plenty of pass rushers in a scheme that attacks all game. Banks has looked good at CB too. I hate to admit it but Schoen and Dabol are doing a good job with that team and turned things around much faster than I thought they would.
