(to date) after Logan on first, and TDK on second place. This is based on adjusted RT scores. editorial.rottentomatoes.com/guide/50-best-superhero-movies-of-all-time/5/ Not my personal choice that. But with an opening weekend at $100M in the US this is is by far the most successful female Superhero movie ever - and even beating her male companions. Super hero origin story films usually do not reach this height at the box office. Last November’s Doctor Strange bowed to $85.1M while the first Captain America and Thor movies debuted to just over $65M each in 2011. Well, and even if the movie is not a bona fide classic transcending the genre, the commercial facts make WW a little bit of a historic milestone. UPDATE: That girl has it where it counts, not just in the legs! It seems WW has now surpassed TDK, and is second to Logan only. The Dark Knight Descends to place three...

Aside from WW, they're ones that appeal to people ashamed of comics.

You think Superman is a grounded movie? It tired to be, yes. Superman flying around earth and turning back time is not grounded in the slightest.

Superman flying around earth and turning back time is not grounded in the slightest. Donner's Superman wasn't grounded, but Snyder's sure tried to be.

I know. I was jumping the gun a bit. That said, I happen to agree with samhmd on this issue and that the critical response should be taken with a grain of salt. They've been out of touch for years. Seriously, Logan and The Dark Knight scoring higher than Donner's Superman?

Where you and I disagree on that score is that I found Ledger cloying and terrible, while I know he was the one aspect of the movie that you enjoyed; we seem to agree that the movie was overwrought and overlong. Logan, on the other hand, I really enjoyed. I assume you weren't as high on it. It seems strange even comparing it to the original Superman, though. It's like apples and... cigarettes. Or vice versa, actually.

TDK: well, there's was also Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman, which I enjoyed about it, but yeah, from a writing perspective, the film does little for me after all the smoke and mirrors have been cleared. It thinks it's saying something deep, but really all it's really saying is "People in authority SHOULD lie to the public if it means keeping morale up." Yeah, because that's worked out SO WELL for politicians in the past.[/sarcasm] Logan... was fine, but that's it. It would probably help if I wasn't just so completely done with Wolverine. The film's fine, and yes, I am glad Jackman's Logan is dead for good, but... Eh.
