I firmly believe you all should go see this movie. Gal Gadot knocks it out of the park. Chris Pine is great. The actresses playing the Amazons are great. And Patty Jenkins directs even handedly; delivering story, action and humor, practical sets and FX, and relatable characters. Fun without being overly silly, like Guardians of the Galaxy is in some parts. Go see it and enjoy!
Ok, ONE SPOILER: If there was one quibble it is the "big boss bad guy fight" at the end of the movie. While it was awesome to see Wonder Woman cut loose (and she does! I've waited all my life to see that!), the fight itself was the usual thing that you see at the end of a super hero movie. Its a part of the comic book movie formula they haven't gotten away from yet. But everything else in this movie was top notch.
What did you guys think?

I share your thoughts but disagree about the ending. Whilst I have got tired of the same tropes being used in the finale for recent comic book movies (BvS, Doctor Strange, Suicide Squad being prime examples) the ending to WW was fantastic. Not because the CGI fight is particularly impressive, but because of the stakes and level of investment as a viewer.
SPOILERS**** The fact that Steve Trevor sacrafices himself and dies satisfies and completes the arc of Wonder Woman beautifully. She starts by having the naivity to trust men and leave the island. Then to lose that trust when she finds out the politics of war and how innocents are dieing, she blames all of man including Steve and loses hope. But then in the grand climax, her faith is restored by the selfless heroics of her love, Steve. This induces the rage that is lethal enough to defeat Aries. The way Patty Jenkins directs the silent momemt folliwed by the reveal was poetically great.
With Suicide Squad, BvS, etc there are no stakes at end. Its just mindless CGI garbage. Theres no sense of achievement or resolution.

If the DCEU doesn't pan out, at least we'll probably get a decent Wonder Woman trilogy out of this.

I meant more specifically about the bad guy himself: the all powerful, physically large guy that seems unbeatable, and growls like a monster as if he's a beast instead of a person, and yells lines like "I will destroy you, and then I'll destroy the whole world! HA HA HA!" At this point in comic book movie history its kinda corny. I guess I see the necessity of it, but I'm just hoping someone will deliver something a little more elegant than that.
Don't get me wrong, I love this movie and even plan to see it in theatres again. I'm just saying maybe its time to move away from that particular piece of the "formula"... somehow.

I think it was a solidly good movie. Way better than previous DCEU movies. It wasn't perfect though, and there were a few things I wished they paid more attention to or changed for the better. Still, it's a winning goal for WB and I can easily see Gadot becoming the face of the JLA.

...I can easily see Gadot becoming the face of the JLA. I can easily see Gadot coming on my face. See what I did there? Sorry. That was bad. But I couldn't resist. ...Is this thing on?

Saw it last night. Packed theater.
Strong 6. -I like Gal. She's wonderful and did a great job holding the movie together. A poorer actress wouldve had me walking out. I like her accent. I like her look. -Liked the supporting cast & costars.
Thought the movie was pretty overrated, though. -Much of that movie couldve been edited out. I mean, it fooking draaaaaagged. -The boss fight was very long and drawn out. -Good thing was, they kept the cringey gender insights to a minimum because..some of the gender jokes fell flat in the theater, eg, them on the boat and that whole thing about men not being needed for pleasure? *crickets* And, of course, it would be. Perhaps it played well with the feminist enclave in austin but most of the females in the theater audience with me were in tow with their men. Including myself. -I had a serious problem with gal gadot and her poor upperbody strength accomplishing such physical feats. -The ended was really corny. She sort of leapt off the balconey and hung there in a flying position. Except, not flying. Just sort of suspended in the air looking...I dont even know, but it wasnt an iconic moment. Swear to god, the audience groaned.
If the seats didnt have armrests, I wouldve leaned on my fiancés chest and fallen asleep.
Boyfriend held his tongue until I weighed in then confessed to almost falling asleep, too. Said it wasnt worth $25. Funny thing is, he was trying to hype me throughout the movie, "Oh! There she is-!" ; "Shes really strong isnt she?"; "Theres your girl-!" God bless him. Lol
Im glad that you enjoyed it, though.

-I had a serious problem with gal gadot and her poor upperbody strength accomplishing such physical feats. This seems like an odd complaint. Gal Gadot may have poor upper body strength, but Wonder Woman doesn't - I'm no expert on comics but I'm given to understand that in the DC universe she's probably one of the strongest people around, second to Superman. And like Superman, her strength is basically magical. So what does it matter if she has muscles or not? I mean, at one point she lifts up a tank. It appears to be a British WWI tank, presumably a captured one, which means it weighs in the region of 25 - 38 tons. There's really no amount of muscularity that makes it believable that a person can lift that. The only possible explanation is "magic" of whatever form. And if it's magic, then it's really irrelevant how many muscles she has.

For a movie to be a 10, it needs to be something I will re-watch. I go to IMDB with a number in my head & often up it 1 if I think the score there is low. Like if I think it's a 7, I might make it a 8 if the score is 7 there. I don't get the "6 is a D" 10 numbers/5 letters means 2 numbers per letter meaning grading. Letter scores have more range because they have + & - so A= 9& 10 means 10 is a solid A, 9 is an A-. B= 8 & 7 with 8 being B or B+ & 7 is B- So a 6 for me is C - C+ And, yeah, I probably gave it a bit more positive because I like Pine & superheroes & this is actually not as horrible as the other entries into DCEU so maybe Momoa has a chance (who cares about Aquaman. Namor kills him, but Momoa is adorably enthusiastic about stuff. I saw him at a GoT panel after his character had been offed & he was so funny) And OHMYGOD They just said Adam West died? Oh my god. Wow. - - - - - - - - Ok. Back. Wow. Anyway, I lean Marvel. Their characters are more human. They are people who get superpowers & do the right thing, but sometimes that really impacts their personal lives. I was reading comics from the 60s when they were pretty simple-good guy vs bad guy- on & off until the late 1980s. 1990 my daughter was born so no more time for comic books. DC heroes seemed more flat/plain. They were SuperHeroes who used their secret identities as an off switch-to sleep, eat, etc, or maybe gather intel. The Secret identities didn't seem as integral to the story. You were reading Superman, not Clark Kent. I read a book called Peter Parker back in the day.

Its better than I thought it would be,I would rank it behind MOS. My Queries about this movie were Gadot and the guy playing Aries both are miscast. Honestly Chris Pine carried this movie and the supporting cast was great too. I do like the tone of this movie there is no forced humor like a lot of recent superhero movies have had and its well shot and looks great,I love how all the settings for the movie look. Sadly I don't think JL will be better than this.

I'm a Gemini The best description I found about Geminis is its not we can't make a decision, it's that we see the possibilities & thus can't decide. Like buy the blue shirt or the red one. We can see it with what we already have & thus both options look inviting. So when I get a score for a movie in my head, it's squishy below 10. I think it's a 7, but people are giving it a 7.3 when I think it's a 7.8 so I will give it an 8

Saw it. Loved it. 10/10 stars! (A Rating I rarely give, although I'll admit if I can't give a movie at least 7.5 stars out of 10, I don't bother rating it.) Have to see it multiple times in theatres, bought the baseball cap, got the Sia song from the soundtrack, have changed my profile pics on all my accounts to WW, and I can't wait for WW2. It was THAT good.
