That might be the difference. It is legit one of the scariest movies I have ever seen. Yeah that’s definitely a vast difference from me. It was slightly too predictable to me as well to be terribly scary. That is another difference. I didn't find it predictable. I had no idea where it was going to go.

It did catch me off guard many times though. A movie can be predictable for me and still be scary. Heck, I have watched horror movies where I guessed the rest of the movie and they were still scary. Take something like It (2017). I knew the story beforehand as did most people and I still found that movie creepy. Not exactly scary, but often creepy.

Like The Thing (1982) is just generally pretty scary, but it’s made even more scary because it’s so wildly unpredictable. I can see it being scary either way. It just didn’t do it for me.

That is too funny because I have always found The Thing somewhat predictable and not particularly scary. It is thrilling, has great effects, has a memorable cast of characters and is entertaining, but I have never found it all that scary. Even when I was young.

I will say, my taste in horror and comedy has always been pretty different than the norm. Whereas with other genre stuff and most mainstream movies I’m usually pretty in-stride with the masses. For whatever reason, my taste in horror in specific has been pretty variable over the years.

Dune Part 2: Your Sister is a Werewolf -8/10 Drive-Away Dolls -6/10 Twisters -6/10 Mean Girls -6/10 Irish Wish -3/10That doesn't seem like something you would watch. What are your thoughts on Twisters? How is the cast?

What are your thoughts on Twisters? How is the cast? It was a Netflix and chill situation. I talked about it in the trailer thread. It's basically a straight remake of the first one with some things mixed and matched. Powell is fine but the rest are kind of underwhelming compared to the original's. It's kind of hilarious that they package Anthony Ramos as this country boy when he does nothing to hide his Brooklyn accent. Also, the guy playing the new Superman has a large but thankless role. Seems like the marketing is downplaying his involvement.

It was slightly too predictable to me as well to be terribly scary. Maybe I'm nitpicking because I enjoyed it, but I've never gotten the hang of this particular criticism: it's a horror movie but it didn't scare me, or 'it's not scary'. I do think it starting bending under its own ambitions with the end sequence, but I'm not exactly sitting there waiting to be scared. I'm busy trying to watch the movie. I bring this up because I actually think the end sequence was tacked on partially as an excuse to include a jump-scare twist in anticipation of the audience saying it wasn't scary enough. Although I don't mind that sequence terribly, the movie could have ended imo when the show went off the air and the screen went static.
