I never thought I'd ask this but I wonder how the movie would look if Len Wiseman was still attached?

A bomb with critics doesn't mean it will automatically be a bomb at the box office. I could list many examples.

Not like I was planning on checking it out in theaters to begin with but by many reports , the budget for The Mummy is pretty modest for a big summer film . Should still do quite well overseas at least . Not looking good for Universal's Dark Universe though .

Richard Roeper's review from the Chicago Sun Times is brutal and vitriolic

Wasn't he supposed to be Van Helsing in a reboot or something too? Did they just go "fuck it" and combine the two?

Meh, I learned my lesson with King Arthur. I was planning on seeing Megan Leavey and It Comes At Night first anyway, but I'll probably skip this entirely.

I never thought I'd ask this but I wonder how the movie would look if Len Wiseman was still attached? It'd still suck honestly. Len Wiseman does not make good movies.

If the Mummmy bombs, will Universal still go ahead with their Dark Universe plan? They tried it first with Dracula Untold and it didn't pan out. Now it looks like the Mummmy is going to be another disappointment (in the US box office anyway, we'll have to see in other countries).
Universal should have waited for the box office results before announcing a Dark Universe.

I never thought I'd ask this but I wonder how the movie would look if Len Wiseman was still attached? uh... worse.
But at least the expectations for it wouldn't have been as high.

This is one of the reviews...
At one point in "The Mummy," Tom Cruise is threatened with doom by a ghoul who warns him, "There are some fates worse than death." Starring in a film like this is one of them.
LOL ouch

Here Hollywood. It's a better idea for a mummy movie! One of the heroes even LOOKS like Brendan Fraser.

With it staring at a $30 million domestic weekend, I think we can say with confidence that it is now a bomb.
I can't really predict these things anymore, as blockbuster movies aren't made with my sensibilities in mind, but in my opinion this Mummy looked like a flop from the beginning.
