I'm a big Led Zep fan, but I'd say 'Stairway To Heaven'. I blame the radio for overplaying it for so many years. I don't think it's a bad song. I just think it's overrated and I'm still tired of hearing it.

I just think it's overrated and I'm still tired of hearing it. I could say the same for "Free Bird". If I never hear it again, I'll be happy. Don't get me wrong, it is a great song, just overplayed on the radio. With all the back catalogs of all the artists, why do radio stations only play the same three songs by any artist over and over and over...

This is how I feel about the first song released from country singer Dierks Bentley named "What Was I Thinking?". I love Dierks, but that song has been played so much in the 13 years that its been on the radio that I have grown sick of it. If only my favorites from him were played as much. God bless you and Dierks always!!! Holly

Well, it's a song in a TV commercial, my choice. I think Bananarama did a version of it in the 80s, and it's constantly being shown on UK TV. You can be watching something good and then this piece of crap will come on while you are out in the kitchen making a cup of tea during the break. It has me running back in and scrabbling for the RC. Or you can be just randomly flicking through the channels and this bollix will be on in mid-flow. They do their own version of it. And the visuals are just as annoying, grown adults prancing around like demented idiots. They did this version about three years ago and are still bringing out new ones with the same freakin' song :
Hey Hey Na Na Kiss Him Goodbye (aka Gala-la-la...)
I hope it links because I haven't checked. Just a nanosecond of it sends me loopy.

Apparently most of the Classic Rock radio stations are owned by corporations who are unwilling to play anything other than the few corporate-approved songs from each artist/band. I have no idea why.

Corporate radio runs classic rock stations like they were Top 40 format-the same songs all the time. Great classic rock stations are a whole different animal, but most "programmers" don't get it. I wish they still had djs that knew their music and were allowed to play what they wanted to play. I use youtube as my radio station now, because my local stations were boring me to death with the same old songs.

There's a whole bunch of Led Zeppelin songs I'd put in that category. Along with Hotel California which we've discussed on this board. Round and Round by Ratt is another one.
