Yeah, BATouttaheck, you're right about their more being "character spin-offs." Same thing with the latest two Pirates of the Caribbean movies, something I was thinking about today because I just recently saw the latest one (not very good, by the way--though, I must say, the series still appeals to my probably-juvenile love of pirates and adventure). BTW, on the subject of Sellers: considered purely as comedy, rather than as a great filmmaking (e.g., Strangelove), my favorite Sellers performance remains his Charlie Chan spoof "Sidney Wang" in Neil Simon's hilarious Murder by Death. His interactions with Truman Capote ("Look! Cow on wall speak!" "It's a moose, you idiot, a moose!") make me laugh every time.

The Matrix .
And I was going to name Blade Runner , but it looks like the sequel is in great hands (esp after seeing that jaw dropping trailer for Blade Runner 2049)

NalkarjI watched the first Pirates and thought that it was good. #2 not as good and #3 I acquired a copy that is still un-watched. They are so "action-y" and "busy" that I find them hard to follow and there are so many other films waiting to be watched. Sellers can be very funny. My favorite (if I have to pick one) is Henry Orient in "The World of..." He is not so over-the-top in that one. I have seen Murder by Death a couple of times but I find Neil Simon not really my kind of writer. It's like he's trying too hard to be clever. Rather the same problem with Mel Brooks. Fun identifying which characters are which real mystery characters but the "plot" is just too silly. Perhaps one has to be in the right mood to really appreciate silly. Will wander back on topic now so we don't get in trouble with the OP 'cept I can't think of any more should not have been made sequels at the moment.

Halloween(1978) should've stuck to the anthology approach envisaged from III onwards.

The Blues Brothers
Cruel Intentions
The Matrix
The Mummy (1999 version with Brendan Fraser & Rachel Weisz)

GREASE. Grease2 was absolutely awful. Yeah but Michelle Pfeiffer was hot af, so it's OK by me.

Psycho. And I like Psycho II and III, but they do admittedly kinda cheapen the effect of the original though.
