I don't know. Perhaps....because you posted on a public discussion board?! Well I wasn't looking for your opinion. At least offer a different perspective next time. You just repeated what most atheists/non christians say. We get that you "dont believe in the bible" or think "it's stupid" or that "God is evil" or whatever tired and often repeated line you feel like using. Again, you posted on a public board, so you get what you get. As far as "tired and often repeated" lines, I see a lot of that from believers as well.

From a theological perspective: Because creation isn't about us. It's about God. We exist for God's pleasure, not the other way around. Our suffering is neither here nor there. Why does an author of a novel allow his characters to suffer? Because that's what he wants to happen to them.
The more prosaic reason: because there is no higher power which looks over us.

Name calling is the last resort of a desperate person. And, after 6000+ years, what kind of "new statement" are you looking for (from either side of the fence)?

It's more like the Bible has no credibility, which makes it seem like the people who believe in it sometimes may come across as "stupid" by using it as evidence for something.

You just make God sound like a total prick now :/ He was a total prick throughout the old testament. He drowned the entire world, murdered Egyptian children, approved of the smashing of babies skulls against walls and other unsavoury shit. Of course he got a makeover and image enhancement for the new testament but deep down he's still the same old prick he always was.

As you wish... So now you can't read in addition to your other problems. Nope! I gave you exactly what you asked for. However, I previously provided statements that you disregarded or misread, so you might not want to throw stones.

At one point, I said "And, after 6000+ years, what kind of "new statement" are you looking for (from either side of the fence)?" After that, your reply had me questioning your reading comprehension. This ping-pong match is pretty stupid.

The most unoriginal, parroting fuckwit in history demanding people offer a "new perspective" - priceless!

Now either offer some new perspective about the bible or go away. Again with the desperate name calling. That's a nice Christian example that you're setting. Twice now, I asked you what sort of new perspective are you looking for (from either side) after 6000+ years. No real answer, yet you talk about other people's reading ability. You don't seem to like the "mean things" people say about religion, so you cry, "Give me something new!" Sorry, but if you can't understand why the stories in the Bible are ridiculous, there's nothing new that anyone can say to help you understand. You truly are trolling now and the food supply has stopped.
