I'm really surprised Angelus isn't completely dominating the votes. He's not my personal ne plus ultra favourite, but what a great arc!!!

I voted for the Mayor. I love him; he is both hilarious and has a quiet scariness to him. His humor is disarming and makes him a little more unpredictable. I do love Angelus, Spike, Dru, and Faith as villains as well, but for me, I don't count them as my favorite because they all (with the exception of Dru) gain redemption in the end, so the Mayor and Drusilla are more "pure" villains if that makes sense.

Makes sense to me, that's why I voted for Glory. None of them other than Dru were villains for even an entire season...yeah I know technically Spike was still a villain at the end of S2, but he WAS helping Buffy defeat Angelus. The best big bads were always the ones who were fun in the process (Glory, The Mayor, even The Master had a dark sense of humor)...Dark Willow, Adam, Warren were all too doom and gloom for me, and as a result, didn't seem as threatening.

Definitely the Mayor. I loved how quickly he could shift gears between amiable, administerial, jovial, caring, sinister, threatening, evil. What incredible acting by Harry Groener. He had some great monologues, too. I always looked forward to his screen-time.

I say Angelus was the worst best for Buffy herself. She loved him, was so wrapped up in him, and because she couldn't bring herself to kill him due to redemption hopes and efforts, Jenny was killed. Gile's reaction was so heartbreaking, as was the entire arc between Angel(us) and Buffy. The rest of the season villains were "Let's get to work figuring out how to kill this fucker" while Angelus was full on angst and heartbreak. It was very well done. Second place is Glory tied with the Mayor. I did appreciate and enjoy his performance and the character's quick shifts between jovial and menacing (Two words: Miniature. Golf.) so he get super high marks for that, but Glory just really made me laugh so much too with her monologues about humans and how much she hated them and being on that plane. Plain? Anyhoo Illyria got a lot of love from me for the same reason. Must be a closet masochist or something. Plus, Claire Kramer is very easy on the eyes and her love of fashion was great. Her powers were epic, the situations she put the gang in were tense and heart pounding (I loved Checkpoint in particular), and seeing that side of Giles at the end of the season (you know what I'm talking about) was one of the greatest moments of the series.

I always found it Ironic Dru was the only one not to find redemption yet as human she was the purest of them. As for favorite villain I would choose The Master.

I agree, ironic and sad that Dru never found redemption and yet she was the purest/most good (is that a phrase? lol). Also, she was the only one out of the four who never asked to become a vampire, or at least didn't seem to have a problem with it. Poor Dru, but I still love her.

Glory, her wit made me lmao every single episode. When Dawn tells her to not call her Dawnie and Glory replies with "That actually hurt my feelings". its hilarious.

Not to mention Glory had great-looking legs! 😁 Also, in all seriousness, the switching into Ben and back was novel. I also shudder at the scene where she tortured Tara by crushing her hand but telling her not to scream or she'll kill everyone in the park.
