there are some spots
still left
on the planet
where
spending weekends
prioritizing
your myth hierarchy
is seen as
some thing to bring people
together
and
not the continuous blood fest
it's
in reality
turned out to be.
of course
there are also places where
freedom is defined
by the number of corpses
hanging
from the vines
you're calling a patriotic tree.
so will
another million dead bodies solidify the chorus
or do we need
a
musical director
working a pipe organ
from
high atop a place where
turns out
no one was ever actually free.
