DeVito on It's Always Sunny

The writers had no idea how to use him, they were just stoked that a big name actor wanted in. So for the first season or two he's a pretty normal guy and all's good. Then they took him way out into left field as some kind of deranged, depraved animal. I know a lot of tv characters can take a season or two to jell, but where they took him bore no resemblance to the establishment of his character. Plus, it's not funny at all.

As for the show itself, it's just been going through the motions lately. Might be time to put it to bed.
