Recently, when I access this site, I get a Security Alarm Warning that ways "The identity of this web site or the integrity of this connection cannot be verified." The only way I can get rid of this is to shut down the computer. It's not a virus. Any suggestions for how I can get rid of this, and has anyone else experienced this problem?

What browser are you using and what program is showing the alert (if not the browser)?

Oh wait, I remember this one. You're using IE?
Make sure your system time and date are accurate. We can go from there.

I'm using Internet Explorer. I don't know what program is showing the alert. I'm going to try to post a picture of the message I'm getting.

The time and date displayed are correct. Is that what you mean?

The time and date displayed are correct. Is that what you mean? No, I mean is your time and date correct in the more global sense. That's often a problem with IE and certificates.

How can I ascertain whether time and date are correct in the global sense? Don't worry about it. It just means if your time is accurate to your timezone and location, but that's not the problem here.

To launch a command prompt, I press the Windows icon + R. Right?

Alright, I'd start by flushing your DNS.
You're going to have to navigate through File Explorer and go to C:\Windows\System 32\ and run the file cmd.exe in that folder. From there, type in "ipconfig /flushdns".
It probably won't fix anything but it's an important first step.

No, it's more that I can likely rule out what the problem isn't. Usually, this is a problem of your computer not using correct time and/or date. But if it isn't reporting that as an error, it seems more likely to be a DNS problem-- i.e. how the site is looked up and how your computer is translating that information. Or a problem with the site itself that might only be affecting a small number of people. Is this a problem exclusive to this site?

Do you know what the problem is, Bartleby? Is this a problem exclusive to this site? It happened once on Youtube, but other than that it's exclusively on this site.

When the message pops up, click View Certificates. Then select Install Certificates. Then hit next. Tell me what you see then.

Now it's not popping up. It doesn't do it all the time. Sometimes a week passes before I see it again.

I suppose you could just turn off notifications for that specific problem if it's intermittent and you only go to trusted sites. To do that, go to Tools->Internet Options and then the Advanced tab. Scroll down to the bottom and you should see a checkbox that says "Warn about certificate address mismatch". Uncheck it and that should prevent the pop-up.

How do I install certificates? Honestly, that would take a good amount of time to explain and it wouldn't help fix your problem if the problem is not something happening consistently.
