Westworld (2016)What did you think of the first season? I thought it was solid and showed lots of potential.

I was liking it until the scenes with Maeve and the 2 techs. That kind of ruined the show for me.
SPOILERS
Also, they killed off the coolest character on the show in the finale. Unless they bring him back somehow, I doubt I'll watch Season 2.

I like it but it's too bad fans have to wait until 2018 to see season 2.

It's a great show. I cannot wait for season 2. I just hope they don't plan to take year long breaks between each season.

It's a great show. I cannot wait for season 2. I just hope they don't plan to take year long breaks between each season. I think from this point forward it will be the standard year wait after seasons instead of the year and a half we're going though now. The first season was delayed in its airing which I think contributed to some scheduling conflicts. Now that its a hit show they should be able to work out the filming schedule a bit better.

Does anyone have a favorite character? For me it's a tie between Maeve and Ford.

Spoilers!
How many picked up on the twist about the man in black, and at what point? (For me it was the first episode.)
Anyone notice the Yul Brynner Gunslinger in the background during the episode where Bernard was in the basement looking something up?

I thought it was brilliant. Best series of 2016. Bernard and Ford the best characters to me. But I like the cast in general. The only 2 duds were Charlotte and Sizemore.

A show about two artists trying to create their masterpieces and failing...

I've finished the series today and the show is superb!
Episodes may vary a bit in quality and interest but the show is still 10/10 for me. Super acting, story, characterization, everything.
However, the pace could be a bit better during some spots.

Does anyone have a favorite character? Ford is my favorite. Bernard was another fav of mine in the early episodes, but less so later on.

Maeve somehow manipulating the techs was so painfully contrived it made it too difficult to see the show as anything more than entertainment on the level of a poorly written cartoon. The ugly annoying blonde robot chick being impossible to stop in the finale weakened the show even more. It's lowest common denominator garbage that somehow impossibly masquerades as "thoughtful" and some people actually buy into it.

Lowest common denominator is reading your comments.

Absolutely fantastic show.
I thought there were several extremely clever parts of the story. I did not see Ford's motives coming at all. I thought he was just an evil mad scientist.
I am very curious to know more about some of the hosts lurking in the background. There appeared to be two groups who seem to operate outside of normal programming. The Ghost Nation and Wyatt's crew.
