It's always nice to know that I got several right-- but too late.
Still-- on the other hand--I got several totally wrong and it would have mattered when i got them.........

That was fun, but I really wish my IPad would post faster...
But I wish to thank all of you who made my win possible by posting enough to keep me from getting four in a row.
Staccato must be the world's fastest at posting. I am looking forward to a day when I can have a real computer again.

If I had gotten here before the game was long finished and if I had beaten anyone to the punch, I might have had a chance with #1. 13,130 and 168 as "off-the-top-of-the-headers. MAYBE ! Another game that is fun even to read when the dust has cleared. mattgarth.

SPIDER REDUCES US TO A MERE THREE !!! Matt, beloved QM, I discovered that Jervis actually listed this first, about 4 hours ago. It's on page 5. So he gets one more point, and I get one less. Gotta do the right thing! Good for you jervis. Post by jervistetch on 4 hours ago 95/118 - ANN-MARGRET MAGIC HOPKINS LAUTER Very kind of you, Spider -- actually, it's still yours on a technicality. Jervis failed to place the romantic rivals at first, so it wasn't counted (yet) -- but returned to add the names. Since the GG mobile cannot make U-Turns, it wasn't seen.

Just imagine if she had a real honest-to-goodness computer !!!

Actually mattgarth , I meant that I might have gotten #1, #13, #130 and #168 correct without doing any research and the weather being right in the channel. (little quote reference there for ya) #1 status is a never happen for Bat ... especially with neuro and the others in the race. Congrats to ALL.

I think I tried William Holden for four different answers. I'll have to go back and see which one worked--and for whom.
Humphrey Bogart -Sabrina Bing Crosby - The Country Girl Broderick Crawford - Born Yesterday Cliff Robertson - Picnic (Edit--Kim Novak was never an Oscar nominee..........)
Do any of the rest of you like to go back and read through the whole thread after it is over?
I love to do that almost as much as playing the game itself.
Reason: we all know we were looking in the same places at the same time. It is sort of a connection to the group to see others' posting patterns along with mine.

Really, guys? It seems like that would be a sure cure for insomnia! Nah. It's interesting to see all of the possible combinations in those "easy" ones with the two of something matching with a one of something else in two of a third category AND someone or other has to have been nominated or maybe even won something. Then there's the KP when there are 18 other possibilities to look for. The pressure of playing is off once the game is over and just seeing the exchanges and watching the development is kinda cool.

Kijii- I actually try to do my best to read through the thread as it is being posted. I try to do my best not to post answers that already have been given in order to keep, down the work for the Quizmaster and to make sure I pick up on the jalfers quickly so no one steals them from me. I have my fair share of halfers and NTA's but I often have an alternate in mind. But I do call up my housemate once the contest is over and ask him if he would know. With this quiz, he could name the film with the trio, but probably not be able to do it as played. He is 91 and does know his films will, but playing a GG requires a great memory or a really good computer. Just don't do any quizzes on Westerns. I would be totally lost.

An all-Westerns quiz? Hey, Linda -- great suggestion!

Matt - If you are going to,do,a Western quiz, I have doctors appointments on the next two Thursdays. That would be a perfect time. But I won't promise to keep my nose out completely.
