I haven't heard a question like this since I was a child. Mine: Anthony Hopkins

Hopkins and Caine are definitely up there for me. Morgan Freeman, for all the jokes made at his expense, is still undeniably talented.
Johnny Depp is a good actor, to be sure, who has been squandering his abilities in terrible movies made for money.
Kenneth Branagh is more notable as a director--his Much Ado is a masterpiece by every criterion--but his acting is usually good.
De Niro? Joe Pesci? Daniel Day-Lewis? All up there. Denzel Washington? Ralph Fiennes? There are many others, of course, but they're coming to mind. I'm far less certain here than I am about actresses; I don't know why, exactly.

Liam Neeson Anthony Hopkins Michael Caine Derek Jacobi Brendan Gleeson Dustin Hoffman Robert Duvall Gene Hackman
