Congos, Culture, Saints, Ultravox! for me. Though strangely enough, despite having been a reggae fan since I was a wee lad, it was only very recently that I finally became convinced of the much-vaunted genius of Heart Of The Congos. Somehow, it had never clicked for me, I always felt that Children Crying was the best track by far and the rest of the LP didn't live up to it. But I've changed my mind. It happens. Occasionally.

It's hysterical that almost no one is voting for "NEVER MIND THE BULLOCKS HERE'S THE SEX PISTOLS" when it is universally acknowledged as on one of the Greatest Albums of All Time.

Suicide, Television, Throbbing Gristle and Wire. TG had a 1976 album, Music From the Death Factory. Not really an official release by any standards, it was a rehearsal tape that was handed out to friends. 2nd Annual Report is generally regarded as their debut, being released and distributed on vinyl, rather than a home-recorded tape. There could be an argument that Best of Volume II is their actual debut, being the first Industrial Records release, but that was so limited* that people doubted its existence, and it's another home-produced tape. *Note that when I say limited, I mean limited. Even 2nd Annual Report only had 785 copies made, so we're talking tens, rather than hundreds of copies.
