another great series for ASHWIN. 17 wickets at 25.88, taking his career tally to 292 in 52 matches.
i just checked cricinfo.
so ASHWIN's good time began in december 2014. he had returned after a dismal tour of australia - 12 wickets in 3 tests at a very high average of 48.66. before which he had very poor tours of england and south africa.
this was followed by 28 tests (beginning with the one off test against bangladesh uptil the third test against sri lanka which ended today) in which he picked up 173 wickets! the 28 tests included 12 tests against the minnows - bangladesh, sri lanka and west indies. and 16 tests against the biggies, but all in favorable indian conditions.
now ashwin has 3 more tests against sri lanka at home later this year. im sure he will pass 300 wickets in that series.
this will be followed by a testing tour of south africa when all eyes would be on his overseas performance.

It's all over. Dhawan is the MOTS. Sri Lanka will be minnow level once Herath retires.

He's almost certainly gonna be the fastest bowler to 300 Test wickets. Needs just 8 wkts in the next 3 Tests.

Will Mohammad Shami be one of the contenders of an all time Indian test XI by the end of his career?

Cook churns out another double. What a legend. Will he beat Tendu? It would have to be a long and consistent journey to beat tendu. I hope some indian beats tendulkar's record. Just like sehwag and rohit sharma broke his 200 runs in a single innings in ODI.

Anyway, great show by Indian spinners in the first ODI.

Anyways records are meant to be broken. Lets see if he can carry on his good form throughout his career. Right now he is in good form.

Dhawan is in terrific form right now, against a weak opponent ofcourse. I love watching him bat as most of the times he plays aggressively.

I will actually keep Dhawan in my all time Indian ODI team playing outside Asia. The team is
Tendulkar
Dhawan
Ganguly
Kohli
Rohit Sharma
Dhoni
Kapil Dev
Jadeja
Agarkar
Srinath
Kumble.
12th man - Mohammad Shami (replaces Kumble on fast pitches)

Rohit would be a disaster batting in the middle-order. Better off going with Yuvraj.
